Fresno Car Insurance and Courts
Fresno courts have something for every age group.
Not having Fresno car insurance is just one of the many different types of traffic citations you can earn in Fresno. But regardless of what traffic citation you do end up with, Fresno is prepared to help those in every age level. From temp daycare being provided for young children when their parents have a court date and young drivers having their own traffic citations to the new laws that decrease the fine for adults getting caught without car insurance, Fresno has everyone covered.
Daycare in Fresno Courts
For parents that have to go to court for Fresno traffic citations they can bring their kids to court with them. No, the little ones will not be in the actual courtroom, but will instead be in the children’s waiting room in the main courthouse.
For a parent to be able to put a child in the children’s waiting room while they are in court, they must abide by the following rules that are listed on the Superior Court of California, County of Fresno website:
• “The Children’s Waiting Rooms are available to children 6 months and older. Children 13 years of age and older may use the Children’s Waiting Room to assist with supervising younger siblings or as approved by the Site Aide.
• The Children’s Waiting Rooms are open from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (closed during the lunch hour), Monday through Friday excluding Court Holidays and Court Closure Days.
• Children must be picked up no later than noon when the room closes during the lunch hour and immediately upon completion of their business with the Court.
• Parents must fill out a registration form, provide photo identification issued by a governmental agency and sign and acknowledge receipt of the Children’s Waiting Rooms Parent’s Rules. Registration forms and Parent’s Rules are available in English and Spanish. (English)(Spanish)
• A child can only be picked up by the Parent(s) or authorized adult(s) on the registration form.
• Children’s Waiting Room staff are unable to give any child medication.
• Parents will not be able to leave ill/contagious children at the Children’s Waiting Room.
• Parents are encouraged to bring diapering supplies if necessary.”
Juvenile Traffic Citations
Those under the age of 18 are apparently ticketed differently than adults are as far as traffic citations in Fresno. Juveniles have their own set of rules and specifically listed “Juvenile Traffic citations”.
To handle a Juvenile Traffic citation the violator can show up at their specific court date or they can just pay the citation and get their court appearance waived if their citation is for the following:
- Seat Belt Violation
- Pedestrian Crossing Violation
- Jay Walking Violation
- Riding a Bike on the Mall
If the citation is marked as correctable it can be cleared via “signed-off citation” and a $25.00 fee through the mail, or at a Traffic counter with the $25.00 fee.
No Fresno Car Insurance
Not having Fresno car insurance will get you a traffic citation whether you are a juvenile driver or an adult. California takes its car insurance requirements very seriously, which is why they electronically track what cars are covered and which ones are not. Once your car insurance company notifies the state that you are no longer insured with them they take action against you.
And while the State of California takes care of most of the car insurance violations throughout the state, you can still get a traffic violation at the city level if you are pulled over and don’t have Fresno car insurance.
