Your Best Protection in Anaheim? Anaheim Car Insurance.

Written by Michele Wilmonen. Posted in Research Last Updated: 10/06/2013

Anaheim car insurance doesn’t just protect you from other cars.

anaheim car insurance

Your Anaheim car insurance protects you from the pedestrians going to and coming from here.

The Anaheim car insurance that you are required to carry to be able to drive is mostly required by the State of California to make sure you are protected from other drivers. But, in certain parts of the state, like Anaheim, insurance can also protect you from the aftermath of hitting a pedestrian.

Pedestrians in Anaheim

There are a lot of people that walk around Anaheim because of a specific theme park. There are employees that walk to get to work, there are the regular residents that walk around this resort town, and then there are the millions of tourists that flock to this town every year.

The specific theme park that Anaheim is known for is flanked on all sides by very, busy roads, and on the other sides of these roads are most of the parking lots, hotels, and a good portion of the restaurants that these tourists use. With all of this foot traffic, the odds drastically increase because about 80% of this foot traffic has to cross these roads multiple times every day.

Per the 2010 accident statistic report from the California Highway Patrol, Anaheim has more pedestrian accidents (fatal and non-fatal) than most counties have total in other parts of California. In 2010, there were 92 pedestrian involved accidents, 6 of which ended with the pedestrian dying.

Pedestrians are not the only ones that need to be on the lookout in Anaheim, though. Bicyclists also need to pay extra attention to protect themselves from drivers. In 2010, the California Highway Patrol logged 95 car accidents that involved a bicycle; meaning that a bike rider was hit by a car every 3-4 days in Anaheim.

What’s Going on in Anaheim?

Why are there so many pedestrian and bicycle accidents in Anaheim compared to other cities around the state? Personally, I believe that there are 3 reasons for this.

First, the large numbers of people in Anaheim day in and day out just naturally increases the numbers for car accidents.

Second, Anaheim is a resort town for a theme park. This means that most of the large numbers of people in Anaheim are from out of town so they don’t know the area and the specific street laws. Add that to the increased number of children running around with frazzled parents chasing after them, and accidents will happen.

Third, speeding in Anaheim is ridiculous. The main roads are long stretches of pavement with larger than normal distances from one stoplight to the next; which makes it perfect to floor it. Couple this with the tourists that have tired feet and are cutting across these roads, as well as children running out into the road, and you have the perfect mix for an accident.

You as a driver have to do your part to prevent hitting a pedestrian or a bike rider by being responsible behind the wheel and not speeding. Good drivers do help to decrease accidents, but, even the most cautious driver sometimes can’t react fast enough to prevent hitting someone. Thankfully, as long as you keep your Anaheim car insurance policy current and have enough coverage, your insurance company will help protect you from the aftermath of hitting a pedestrian or a bike rider.

A Dash of Careful + Honolulu Car Insurance = Worry-Free Driving

Written by Michele Wilmonen. Posted in Research Last Updated: 09/12/2013

Your Honolulu car insurance can take the worry away from an accident, but driving careful can prevent one.

honolulu car insurance

Keeping your speed down will keep your Honolulu car insurance premium down.

Honolulu car insurance is required by the State of Hawaii to protect you in the event that you or someone else causes an accident when you are driving around. It is there to make sure that you can pay for damages to another person’s vehicle if you are at fault and that you can afford to pay for any medical expenses that may occur, without ending up in financial ruin.

But, just because you have Honolulu car insurance it doesn’t mean that you can go speeding around in your vehicle without any worries. It is also on you to be careful when you are behind the wheel, so that you don’t get into a car accident and have to use your insurance. So, ultimately it’s the combination of both Honolulu car insurance and careful driving is what will make your car trips worry free.

What Coverages Are Required for Honolulu Car Insurance?

The State of Hawaii has determined that the following are the minimum coverages needed for drivers to be protected, and are required for anyone that wants to drive on the islands:

  • Personal injury protection ($10,000 minimum coverage)
  • Bodily injury liability ($20,000 per person/ $40,000 per accident minimum coverage)
  • Property damage liability ($10,000 minimum coverage)

These are just the minimums that are required by the state for your Honolulu car insurance. You can purchase more coverage to give you additional protection, so that you don’t end up having to pay for anything out of your pocket after an accident. The more Honolulu car insurance coverage you carry, the fewer worries you will have if you get into an accident.

Why Do I Need to Be Careful When Driving?

Honestly, it should be common sense that you are careful behind the wheel. But, here are some financial reasons why driving carefully (specifically the speed you drive) is in your best interest.

  1. Drivers that are careless behind the wheel have higher Honolulu car insurance rates.
  2. Compared to the mainland, the speed limits around the islands are lower for safety reasons, and going over the speed limit will earn you a ticket of $57 or more.
  3. When wet, the island roads get very slick and it is hard to control a vehicle. These slick roads have claimed many lives, including the lives of officers from the Honolulu Police Department. If you are driving carelessly on slick roads and kill someone you are going to be financially responsible for the incident.

So between the traffic tickets, the financial responsibility of a death, and the increase of your Honolulu car insurance premiums it is actually to your benefit moneywise to drive carefully.

There Are More Expensive Things than Tampa Car Insurance

Written by Michele Wilmonen. Posted in Research Last Updated: 09/08/2013

Tampa car insurance is a necessary, but small, evil if you want to drive.

tampa car insurance

Tampa car insurance requirements are a day at the beach compared to what is required in other states.

Everyone complains about having to have Tampa car insurance to be able to drive in the State of Florida. But honestly, compared to what some other states require for insurance coverage, Tampa car insurance requires hardly anything.

Besides, you will find that it is just cheaper for you to pay for the Tampa car insurance you are required to have rather than be caught without it.

What Does Tampa Car Insurance Coverage Consist Of?

The State of Florida determines the amount of insurance coverage needed for drivers all over the state, including for your Tampa car insurance. Tampa car insurance actually only requires two coverages for you to be able to drive. These coverages are the property damage liability coverage and the personal injury protection.

Both of the required coverages have a $10,000 minimum limit to them.

Property damage liability coverage pays for damages that you do to another person’s property with your vehicle. Personal injury protection pays for your medical expenses, regardless of who is at fault for the accident.

And these two coverages are minimal compared to what other states require. There are states that require that their drivers carry liability coverage for property damage, bodily injury, uninsured motorist and more just to be able to drive. That is almost a full policy that they are required to have, so again, the two coverages that you are required to have for your Tampa car insurance is actually quite small.

The minimum amount of $10,000 is also a very low amount for liability coverage. There are states out there that require their drivers to carry up to 6 times that amount; which actually puts the drivers in those other states in a better position than you, because their insurance company will be able to cover more of the expenses if they cause an accident.

The $10,000 that is required for Tampa car insurance may leave you paying for another person’s damage out of your own pocket if the damage is higher than that.

What Happens If You Get Caught With No Tampa Car Insurance?

If you get caught driving without car insurance you will get a $103.00 fine and your license will be suspended. If you actually have insurance at the time you were required to show it to the authorities, but you did not have the proof of insurance on you then the $103.00 will be waived. However, you will still have to pay a $10.00 dismissal fee.

So always keep proof of your Tampa car insurance coverage with you when you are driving.

Bakersfield Car Insurance + DUI = Bad Combination

Written by Michele Wilmonen. Posted in Research Last Updated: 09/04/2013

Spare Yourself the Bakersfield Car Insurance Increase and Avoid a DUI

Bakersfield car insurance

And your Bakersfield car insurance premiums will be just one of the DUI related expenses you will see.

Actually, avoid drinking and driving altogether, don’t think that your Bakersfield car insurance premiums will be okay as long as you don’t get caught. One day your luck will run out, and you will get caught. But, will you get caught by a police officer and just have the DUI mess increase your Bakersfield car insurance premium?

Or will you get caught when you run over a pedestrian or cause a car accident because you were too slow to respond?

Besides, in Kern County, Bakersfield makes up 34% of all alcohol related car accident injuries and 33% of all alcohol related car accident fatalities (California Highway Patrol 2010 statistics). So you can be sure that law enforcement is keeping a watchful eye on Bakersfield.

The After Effects of a DUI

Once you get a DUI, you can be guaranteed that your Bakersfield car insurance premium will increase. In fact, you will be lucky if your old insurance company takes you back after a DUI. Insurance companies don’t like clients that drive when they are under the influence. These clients cause expensive car accidents and are a huge money loss to insurance companies.

But, your Bakersfield car insurance is just one of the things you will see problems with after a DUI.

You will also receive an automatic 4-month driver’s license suspension for your first offense and a 1-year long suspension for any offense after that.

After Your Suspension

Once your driver’s license suspension is lifted and you can drive again, you will have to have an SR22 filing with your Bakersfield car insurance. The SR22 is a California Insurance Proof Certificate that verifies that you have insurance coverage, and it costs extra to have with your insurance policy.

In addition to having to have the SR22 on your Bakersfield car insurance policy, remember you need to have at least the following coverages:

  • Property damage liability coverage of $5,000
  • Bodily injury liability coverage of $15,000 per person and $30,000 per accident

Failure to keep the above minimum requirements for car insurance as dictated by California State Law will result in even more problems with the state on top of the DUI problems you already have. So to save yourself and your Bakersfield car insurance premiums from being in a big mess, just don’t drive after you have been drinking.

Don’t Speed Your Way to Higher New Orleans Car Insurance Rates

Written by Michele Wilmonen. Posted in Research Last Updated: 09/04/2013

Speeding can get you to your location faster, but it may end up a costly time savings.

new orleans car insurance

Take your time and enjoy the scenery to keep your New Orleans car insurance down.

If you like to go fast in a vehicle, become an annual pass member of a nearby theme park, because you won’t like the results on your New Orleans car insurance if you get caught speeding frequently. Speeding is dangerous because you have less control of your vehicle and it takes you longer to stop if you need to suddenly. Dangerous driving means you are a dangerous driver, and insurance companies charge more for insurance coverage for dangerous drivers.

Speeding Fines in New Orleans

In addition to the increased New Orleans car insurance premiums if you get caught speeding over and over again, you will also be facing a separate set of fines from the city. From the New Orleans Traffic Court website, you can expect to pay the following:

  • Speeding 1-9 miles over $157.00
  • Speeding 10-14 miles over $257.00
  • Speeding 15-20 miles over $282.00
  • Speeding over 20 mph Court Appearance

Speeding School Zones

  • Speeding 1-9 miles over $157.00
  • Speeding 10-14 miles over $257.00
  • Speeding 15-20 miles over $282.00
  • Speeding over 20 mph Court Appearance

The Minimum New Orleans Car Insurance

If you are looking for ways to save money because of your speeding fines and resulting insurance rate increases are more than you can handle right now, you always have the option of decreasing your New Orleans car insurance. You only have to legally carry 10/20/10 in liability for car insurance to be able to legally drive.

However, we do not recommend only carrying the state minimum requirements because it may not provide you with enough protection if you ever were in a car accident. But, the State of Louisiana has made it a state law that 10/20/10 is all that you have to have for your New Orleans car insurance.

For those that don’t understand what 10/20/10 means, this is how it breaks down:

  • 10 = $10, 000 in liability coverage to pay for the medical expenses of a person you injure in a car accident
  • 20 = $20,000 in total liability coverage for an accident in the event that you injure more than one person.
  • 10 = $10,000 in liability coverage that pays for the physical damage done to another person’s property by you in a car accident.

So that is one way to decrease your expenses, but we would highly recommend finding something else to cut back on other than your New Orleans car insurance.
