Erie is the best insurance out there. I do have a local agent but never need him as I do everything online. I make any changes needed, pay me bills or anything else online. I get a discount as I have both auto and renters insurance. A few years ago we had an apartment fire and lost everything in that fire. Erie had an adjuster there in a matter of days and after we filled out all the paperwork out they had a check for us right away, no hassles. The rates for them are cheaper than others to.

After nearly 20 years with State Farm we decided to shop around for insurance. Upon recommendation from a friend we called our local Erie agent. When we called the staff were friendly and eager to assist us without being too pushy. We gave her some basic information about us, which she used to obtain quotes for us. After emailing us quotes she called back to discuss out options in detail. After deciding on a coverage level that was suitable for us she emailed us a quote that both offered more coverage than our (at the time) State Farm plan and was a good bit cheaper. While I was on the phone with her setting up our insurance and finalizing the details she mentioned that they offered homeowner’s too, which we explored and later switched to, which saved us more money. Over the past 5 years we’ve had to interact with our agent twice. Once was an accident in which my wife was driven off the road and her car totaled. We called the claims number, submitted our info, then went on our way. The agent was able to look at the car several days later and got back to us a few hours after that, explaining that they were going to total the car. He then told us what we’d get for it, which was more than I was expecting. The claims agent arranged a time for us to go to the car and get any belongings out of it. Within 2 weeks we had our check and were able to buy a new car. The other interaction was our needing to rent a car in a foreign country. I emailed our agent with our travel plans and she got back to us that day to let us know that we were covered. We’ve been happy with Erie. The folks are nice, I get no junk mail or email from them – just information about my policy. Our interactions have been positive. I feel like they appreciate my business and I enjoy working with them

After our former insurer left our state we began shopping for a new insurance company. We called around and were mostly met with agents who wanted to sell us everything but auto insurance (many now push life insurance, financial services, etc). After talking to a long time neighbor we called Erie, who she had dealt with for years. The agent we met with was super responsive to our inquiry for a quote. I gave her the VIN numbers of our vehicle and she ran the numbers, offering us several different tiers of service/coverage. After going over the positives and negatives of each she printed a quote and handed it to me. The rate was cheaper than our previous insurer, even with the “insure your home with us” discount our former insurer gave us. Never did the agent try to sell us on other services; she did give me a quote for home owners’ when I asked but that was it. Not pressuring us for other items really made my day. I’ve had to deal with claims once and that was due to an accident we were in while in Quebec City (we were rear ended by another drive). I called the insurer when we returned to our hotel and they got the claim going. The claims adjuster knew we were calling from another country and offered to our call him collect or email info as he obtained it (we later learned that we wouldn’t have to deal with this). The claims adjuster was responsive and the agent checked on us once we returned to the US. Most recently we added a teen driver to our policy. The agent offered us options to keep our bill down while giving us good coverage for our newer driver. Adding another vehicle was easy, too. We’ve since moved our home owners to Erie, too. The service has been solid and our agent prompt and easy to work with.

Erie Insurance is one of the best insurance companies around. Erie offers a great selections of insurance options. In addition to the flexible option policy, Erie also offers discounts to exceptional drivers who have good driving ratings. I have been a customer for over 10 years with no problems. They have provide exceptional service and continues to go above and beyond to help their customers. Erie is a excellent insurance company and I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for insurance.

I could not be happier with the auto insurance that Erie has provided me. While I have not yet had to use any of their services (knock on wood), there is no denying that they are there for me. For one, I have a local agent that is easy to get in touch with and can provide me with intelligent suggestions based on a wealth of experience.
While I know I have the backing of an entire company in Erie, it’s comforting to have someone nearby locally who knows me and my family. My local agent is aware of what I have going on in my life, what’s important to me, and what insurance best suits my needs. He’s also very easily accessible and quick to reply. This reflects greatly upon Erie to have someone like my local agent represent them. Before signing with Erie, I did plenty of comparisons and without
t a doubt they offer the best prices with the most amount of coverage. While Geico and Progressive may own the airwaves, Erie puts their dollars back in play for you! And the bundling discounts they offer with my home insurance really cuts the costs. Their online site is also very user friendly. It’s very easy for me to view my statements and easily pay my bills. I also receive monthly updates from them providing me with news and suggestions regarding my coverage. They do enough to where I’m not being bothered, and often times mention topics that are interesting.
Overall, I couldn’t be happier with Erier Auto Insurance. I would highly recommend them to my friends and family. God-willing, I will never have to test their service when it comes to a claim!

Erie Insurance company has been around since the 1940’s and they are one of the best insurance companies in America today. Their prices are better than competitive if you have a good driving record and their coverage is better than most on the market. The one drawback is that they are not an easy insurance company to get in with. Erie Insurance relies strongly on families and the bulk of their business has been family members through the years. Don’t be discouraged though because if you have a good driving record there is a very good chance that you will be accepted.
Their claims personnel can be reached 24 hours a day and they are extremely helpful, they make sure you are okay and taken care of and then they take care of the car. The average insurance with a new car gives you in the neighborhood of $300,000 liability and damages but with Erie 1 million dollars is standard. Erie Insurance personnel really do go above and beyond when it comes to service because they still view their customers as family and that’s why they have been so successful through the years. They also offer home, boat, and travel insurance , so they really are a full function insurance agency that is able to meet all your insurance needs. If you are a young family just starting out it would definitely be a good idea to see if you can get Erie Insurance as it will grow with the family and as your children grow up they will automatically be accepted.
The low rates are a great feature but the real feature of Erie Insurance is the family atmosphere and the great customer service.

Erie Insurance has been great for me so far for the past 8 years old driving. So far I have no major accidents. However several times I have had chipped and even cracked windshields. A simple call to Erie Insurance and they were able to set up an appointment for Safelight and get my cracks fixed at no cost! When I needed a full windshield replacement I had to pay my deductible as expected but they gave me no issues and were very helpful.
The rest of my family also uses Erie and my sister got into an accident and the claim was very reasonable and resolved in a timely manner. The one accident a family member got into was a regular collision with both parties at fault. Our insurance company worked with the other insurance company to get it sorted out very easily. They have accident forgiveness so the premium of the insurance did not go up for the accident. In my personal opinion this insurance company has been great, even from people in my own family. At one point we were stranded on the side of the road, and a simple call to our insurance company they were able to help locate a towing company in an unknown area to us.
The prices for the insurance are very reasonable compared to others in the area. Money is tight and I always look for lower premiums, but Erie always seem to stay very competitive and offers great discounts for safe driving. I would definitely recommend Erie insurance to people because they are very professional, reliable, and great prices.

Horrible, horrible company, stay away!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are cheap. But when you get in accident, don’t expect them to pay. They just take your money and give you back absolutely nothing!!!! Horrible company, complete fraud. I already reported them to the BBB.

I have been with Erie Insurance now for over 25 years and my father before me for 30 years. Erie is a family oriented insurance company and with that being said most of their customers are family referrals, so, they may not be the easiest insurance company to get a policy with ( at least Auto ) but they are definitely worth the time trying as they offer the best rates around for the best coverage.
My car insurance has gone up over the years but very little, when I started with Erie my Insurance was $1800 a year but after 2 years it went down to $1600 due to having a good driving record. The coverage is excellent. You are required when buying a new car to have the maximum coverage and most people lower that coverage when the car is payed off. I have that same coverage for an old car because it is so cheap and covers over 1 million dollars in damages for liability.
Whenever I have had a claim the insurance reps have always been great to deal with and actually care that you are okay. They never tell you to take your car to a certain shop they deal with , instead, they let you take your car to be fixed where you feel most comfortable.
Erie Insurance is definitely one of the harder car insurance carriers to get in with but if you have a good driving record and few to no accidents then you will definitely want to give them a call because you won’t find better coverage for the price anywhere.

Erie Auto Insurance has been nothing but fantastic to me and my entire family. First of all, we saved over 60% on our car insurance payments when we switched to Erie. Second of all, Erie has always been prompt and accurate in assisting us. Third of all, Erie has kept up with us to ensure that everything is proceeding smoothly and that no significant troubles have occurred on any given day.
The responsibility of the agent has been a real boon, especially since he personally advocated for our switch to Erie before managing our transfer himself and taking excellent care of us since we switched from our prior insurer to Erie. I would most certainly not switch again, especially considering Erie’s low cost coupled with its standout service.
Erie truly is a boon for those living in states that offer their insuring services. If one lives in a state in which Erie operates, I would strongly advocate at least calling them to check up on their offers. One could surely do worse than Erie, yet I’m not too certain that one could ever do better.
Any time that any of my family members move down into my current state, I will be sure to recommend Erie to them so that they too can enjoy incredible savings in conjunction with fabulous service on the part of a superb auto insurer. I have even told friends about Erie’s fabulous deal, and a couple of them have indeed been weighing a switch to Erie from their current insurer.

I’ve had Erie Insurance for nearly 7 years now, since I turned 16 and first began driving. I’ve got nothing but positive things to say about them!
I’ve made 2 claims in that time, and both times they were handled quickly and efficiently with ZERO issues. First, I had my car stolen during college in Cleveland. It was recovered 4 weeks later, right before the 30 day wait time for payment. As it turned out, it had to be totalled, and they paid me a very reasonable amount for the car. They also paid for cds, etc that had been taken when the car was stolen. Additionally they offered to pay for a rental until the car was found/settled, but since I didn’t truly need one I didn’t take them up on the offer.
The second claim happened in Maryland, I had my drivers window busted out by a car thief. Called them up, they sent someone to me to fix the window, and I was able to drive later that day. All I had to pay was my deductible.
I especially love the customer service they provide. Would NEVER trade that in. And from talking to some friends, I know my insurance rates are WELL below theirs. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

My insurance company has always been good to me.
First and foremost, it is inexpensive compared to most other insurance agencies I have compared it with. My parents have always used Erie insurance, and I rolled onto their plan when I first started driving. And after I moved out, I got my own plan. I have not had a single complaint since.
Many times, I have called their offices scared and worried after a first accident, or a first ticket, or after someone hit me. They have always been very kind and pleasant to me.
The one particular time I remember was when I hit a deer on my way to work. I was able to go to a body shop and get my car inspected that very day. The insurance company worked directly with the body shop to get my car started the same day that I hit the deer. I was given a rental car for as long as I needed it. My car was done within a week or two. All I had to do was pay the small deductible and I was ready to go on the road again!
So not only is the cost of the insurance a benefit to me, but also the people who work there make it easy to talk to a live operator even early in the morning. I don’t have to wait all day to speak to someone who isn’t a machine. As a result, overall, I would say that I am very pleased with my car insurance provider, Erie Insurance.

I currently have car insurance through Erie Insurance and have been with the company for the last eight years since I began driving at sixteen. I am very satisfied with this company.
Fortunately, I have never had to file a claim but have had numerous other positive interactions with the company. Throughout high school and college I was given a 10% discount for having a high GPA. I was also given a small discount (around 5%) for completing a driver’s education program through my high school.
In 2008 I got rid of my old car and purchased a brand new Toyota Yaris. I was concerned that the rates at Erie Insurance would be too high with a new car and that I would have to find other insurance. I was pleased to learn that the rates at Erie were quite reasonable and the agent that I dealt with was extremely helpful in explaining the coverage to me. He went above and beyond to make sure that my insurance plan was not only affordable, but covered me completely in the event of an accident in my new car.
In May of 2011 I got married and my husband (who has a less than stellar driving record) and I needed to combine car insurance. In the last five years my husband had been in two small accident but Erie was still able to offer us coverage and make sure that we were both fully covered despite his driving record. I had a small issue getting them to send me the correct insurance cards, as they spelled my husband’s name wrong on the first set of temporary cards. While dealing with Erie in an attempt to straighten out cards everyone I spoke with was extremely courteous and professional. The agents offered excellent customer service and really worked as hard as they could to straighten out the issue with the cards.
Overall, it was a very minor negative experience. My husband recently deployed and we sold our second car. Erie agents immediately adjusted our policy and were able to get us a small refund for the portion of the month that we had already paid the higher two car rate on but for which we did not have the second car.
While I haven’t had to file any major claims with Erie Insurance the interactions that I’ve had with them over the last eight years have always been superb. I feel that the agents truly work hard to get the best and most affordable coverage for their customers. I plan to stay with Erie for the foreseeable future and would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for affordable coverage and great customer service.

Awful, awful company. Buyer beware.
Driving home from work my windshield was severely cracked by a rock from an 18 wheeler. I called Erie to inquire about getting the windshield replaced. The agent at Erie asked: “Did the rock fall off the truck or did the truck kick the rock up from the road?” I respond: “Not sure, the truck was pretty far in front of me at the time, I assume the truck kicked the rock up.” Erie’s repsonse: “Sorry, we don’t cover that.” “If the rock FELL of the truck then you would have to get the license plate from the truck………blah, blah, blah………….This company wouldn’t even replace a $200 windshield.
The only thing this company is good at is lying and denying claims. 2 claims in 10 years???? Both denied through lying on their part. They will pay more money to deny your claim than what the claim is actually worth.
The above is true. I did not make this up.
STAY AWAY…………….

Erie has replaced my windshield 2 times now. The first time I was on my way to Columbus, Ohio early in the morning. I hit a pot hole and my windshield just cracked out of nowhere. I called Erie and let them know and they helped me find a place to get it replaced. It was replaced THE SAME DAY. The 2nd time I was driving on Interstate 79 and a truck kicked up a rock and cracked my windshield. Again I called erie and explained, and we repeated the process as before. It was replaced the next day, and all I had to pay was the small deductible both times.

I have had Erie Insurance for the past 12 months/1year. This is a great group and is surprisingly cheap. While other insurance companies wanted to charge me in the hundreds, Erie literally sliced their prices in half. I have yet to file a claim with them, but can expect the same great service as I get now. Don’t intend on changing anytime soon.

I have used Erie Insurance throughout most of my time as a driver. I have been impressed with their customer service and willingness to go above and beyond to make buying auto insurance a good experience for me. About a year ago, I had an incident during which I needed to be able to communicate with my actual representative (as opposed to the 24-hour service line) very quickly. I was able to call my agent directly and be in contact with her within a matter of a few minutes. I have periodically looked into buying other insurance, mostly because of the cost.
However, I have realized that I am paying a very small amount more than I might through one of the bigger companies, such as Progressive, Geico, All State or State Farm, but have much better customer service. At one point during my driving career, I moved out of state and needed to purchase insurance from another, larger and more well known company. Although I paid less each month, my customer service experience was difficult, and I never spoke to the same person twice. Every phone call or issue took three times as long to complete, because the person I was talking to did not know me, and only knew my computer profile.
This does not happen with Erie insurance. If I need to speak to my representative, I am able to call her directly, email her, or even stop in to her office and speak with her in person. This makes my service experience much better. In sum, Erie Insurance has been nothing but a positive experience for my auto insurance needs. My agent has worked with me to reduce costs in every area available, and has helped me to make changes to reduce costs even further.
The company is great to work with and is very easy to speak to directly. I am able to contact my agent whenever I need to, and she always calls me back on the same day that I call her. Erie Insurance has been willing to go above and beyond what they need to do in order to offer me the best possible experience in shopping for car insurance. They are easy to reach, easy to communicate with, and a pleasure to do business with.
I would recommend Erie Insurance to anyone looking for a good customer service experience, anyone who is tired of dealing with a large, impersonal auto insurance company, or anyone who has special circumstances that make it difficult to fit into the strict, specific product categories of larger companies.

Erie is a great company imo. I have been with them for almost 5 years now. I was in a minor fender bender, and they were very helpful and served me well. Rates always seem to be good and don’t go up very much at all

Erie has been great to me in every way. I had very low rates, that no one who has tried can beat, and they don’t go up. The one time I had a claim with them 11 years ago, they were absolutely great to work with. I give them an A+

Erie is a great insurance company unless you have a claim….how true! I had them for everything…auto, home, rental properties…..for over 30 years. We made one claim and they denied us coverage. Very sad way to run an insurance business. Their rates are low because they don’t pay claims!!!

Erie is a great insurance company unless you have a claim. I have used them for my house and auto for about 12 years and we did have about $1,700.oo in claims which isn’t much over a twelve year period. Then when someone hit my husband’s car in a no fault state, they canceled our insurance. I wouldn’t use them.

My wife was rear ended by a person who had Erie Insurance. My wife’s car was a total loss through no fault of her own. Erie Insurance uses comps which are no where near close to the actual value of a car. I would NEVER recommend Erie for car insurance. Their adjusters are trained to pay out as little as possible on claims. Theur adjusters also try to use many intimidation techniques to force people into accepting offers that are less than fair. They talk constantly and seldom let you voice your opinion. These people and the company they work for, in this case Erie Insurance, appear to be extremely unfair.

Erie Insurance is delaying paying me on insurance claims I made. I had to get a lawyer to even get them to talk to me. Now they they are playing games. I have to go a deposition meeting with them and discuss my claims again when they have all the paper work and bills me and my lawyer turned in to them. As soon as this thing is settled I am going with another insurance carrier. Don’t buy Erie Insurance. They will try to rip you off every way they can.

I have been with Erie for three years now, and I have been impressed with their service, prices, and communication. Erie assigns a person to your account, and this person becomes your point of contact. It is nice having a name and direct line to call if there are issues. I have not had to use the car insurance, thankfully, but I know that if I do I will have great service from Erie.

Eleven years ago we moved to another state and needed to get our vehicles’ paperwork changed and insured in North Carolina. I asked around and by word of mouth, a local agent was recommended. My kids and I went to his office and his wife welcomed us and spent quite some time with me. She personalized an insurance policy with Erie with me. I was very lucky because I have found that Erie has the best prices – if you keep a clean driving record – than any other company that I’ve heard about. Even adding a teen to our policy didn’t hurt too much, the premium went up about 50%, whereas my coworkers’ auto insurance tripled when they added their teens to their policies.
Even after 11 years, Erie’ premiums haven’t increased too much. Fortunately, I haven’t had to file a claim with Erie. However, I have contacted them multiple times (trading cars, adding teens, changing features of the policy, etc.) to ask questions and make changes to my policy. Everything I wanted was handled immediately and pleasantly by the local agent. Erie does not call me to solicit further business or send me any junk mail. I’m sure Erie respects my privacy and has not shared my name or information with any other company.

I have had Erie Insurance for both my home and auto for over 30 years. At this point I have accident forgiveness in the event of an accident. Unfortunately I had to use them this year for the first time in a long time. The claim was handled quickly and efficiently. I dealt with not only a claims adjuster but a medical claims person as well. Both were professional and extremely helpful. I would recommend them as an insurance company.
The only negative thing I could say was they used after market parts on my vehicle when I had my accident. I would have preferred that they use manufacturer parts. However, the damage was extensive and they gave me great service. I have had very little occassion in the past to use my auto insurance so this professional attitude and quick response proved to be a positive reflection on the company. I would recommend them for anyone who needs auto insurance. I have checked the rates with other companies in the past and none have been able to meet/beat what Erie offered me.

My insurance company has good coverage for the money and convenient payment plans. Their local agent is pretty good with handling my insurance needs. The only bad things really about my plan is the fact that I have to pay a service charge to make my payments low enough and my payments are spread over too many months. My whole plan with collision coverage is about $350 for a full year.
This is actually not bad as my old insurance company, Hanover charged nearly twice that for a full year. I am glad it is this low, but I will likely be even happier when the price goes down after I drop the collision, as I only have it due to the car is still being paid for. A downside to the billing cycle though, is no grace period. If I don’t pay on time, there will be an added service charge added on to the bill. It would be frustrating if I simply forgot to pay one month because I misplaced the bill. The lack of a grace period is due to their policy of liberal payment plans. Overall, I’m just glad I don’t have to pay more for my insurance.
