The Need for Orlando Car Insurance
Orlando car insurance is there to protect you when you don’t even realize you need it.
Car accidents happen in Florida, we all know that. But, few of us really put much thought into getting into a car accident until the metal has already crunched. And it’s for times like those that you need to be grateful that you have Orlando car insurance coverage, even if you were forced to have it.
Forced Orlando Car Insurance
Yes, you have to have car insurance. In most states car insurance is required to make sure that the other people on the road with you are protected from your negligence or accidents that you may cause. There is usually no coverage required that protects you in the event of an accident.
In Florida though, you are required to purchase coverage that protects both you and the other person. Florida is one of a very small number of states that require this.
These unique coverages that they require you to have on your Orlando car insurance are:
- $10,000 personal injury protection (PIP)
- $10,000 property damage liability (PDL)
The PIP is to pay for your injuries, regardless of who was at fault for the accident, and the PDL pays for the other person’s damages that you cause.

What Other Orlando Car Insurance You Need

There is no coverage for the damages to your vehicle, no towing coverage, no rental car coverage, and if the other person’s property damage is above $10,000 there is no coverage for that either.
