Keeping Your Chula Vista Car Insurance Beautiful

Written by Michele Wilmonen. Posted in Research Last Updated: 01/17/2014

chula vista car insurance

A nice low premium will Chula Vista car insurance beautiful, just like the view.

If Chula Vista car insurance feels like an ugly necessity, here are some tips to keep it from getting uglier.

In Spanish, Chula Vista means “beautiful view”, which probably are not the words you have in mind when you are viewing the bill for your Chula Vista car insurance. But like everything in life, it could be worse. There is always someone somewhere that is paying more for their car insurance than you are.

If you don’t wish to become this other someone that is paying more for their car insurance, keep these three things in mind.

#1: Don’t Cause Your Chula Vista Car Insurance to Increase

In most cases, you have the power to prevent your Chula Vista car insurance from increasing. No, you can’t prevent a company increase because that is a business decision by the insurance company that has nothing to do with you. But, you do have a choice to leave that company and get coverage with another insurance company that can give you a lower rate.

You can also keep your current insurance premium down by obeying traffic laws and driving safely to prevent getting in a car accident.

#2: Do What You Can to Decrease Your Chula Vista Car Insurance

Insurance companies offer many different types of discounts for their customers to help lower insurance costs. Most of these discounts are directly related to driving and are offered because the ones that qualify for these specific discounts are less likely to get in a car accident, and that is music to an insurance company’s ears.

You can usually find the following discounts available for your Chula Vista car insurance policy:

  • Multi-car Discount
  • Good Driver Discount
  • Long-time Customer Discount
  • Good Student Discount
  • Multiple Insurance Policy Discount
  • Driver Safety Course
  • Tracking Device Discount

If you think that you qualify for any of these discounts and you don’t see them on your declarations page of your insurance policy, ask your agent about it. Also be very forward about asking about what other discounts your current insurance company offers that you may qualify for.

#3: Carry the Minimum Chula Vista Car Insurance

To drive in Chula Vista, you have to have Chula Vista car insurance. This is not a city law, but rather a statewide law created and enforced by the State of California. If you choose to drive without car insurance, you will end up having to pay even more for the car insurance that you tried to skip out paying for after you get caught.

Here is what the state requires you to drive with:

  • $5,000 property damage liability coverage
  • $15,000 bodily injury liability coverage for one person
  • $30,000 bodily injury liability coverage for multiple injuries

So keep your insurance policy beautiful with a lower premium by following the law and carrying the coverage the state requires on your Chula Vista car insurance.

Basic Jersey City Car Insurance Falls Short

Written by Michele Wilmonen. Posted in Research Last Updated: 01/12/2014

jersey city car insurance

Don’t let only having the “basic” Jersey City car insurance coverage leave you in a rocky position after a car accident.

Don’t trust that Jersey City car insurance requirements have your best interest in mind.

One has to wonder what state lawmakers are thinking when they require drivers to carry car insurance to protect other drivers, but then make the coverage requirements so low that it doesn’t really protect anything. Regardless of why they do it though, you as a driver have to make sure that you have at least the minimum of what they require for insurance coverage.

But to make sure that you have enough coverage in the event an accident does happen, you always have the option of voluntarily purchasing additional coverage above what the lawmakers require you to have.

What is the Minimum Jersey City Car Insurance?

The minimum Jersey City car insurance that you are allowed to have, according to the State of New Jersey, is the “basic” policy. This policy only provides the following coverages:

  • $5,000 in property damage liability coverage
  • $15,000 in personal injury protection coverage

Why The Minimum Jersey City Car Insurance is Too Low

As you can see from the coverage above, these required coverages don’t even come close to what you really need to have to be protected when driving. These coverages only make it so you are driving with some sort of coverage and meet legal requirements for having insurance.

If you have a basic policy and were to ever cause a car accident you would find out the following:

  1. Any injuries to the other person that exceeds or is not covered under their PIP would have to be paid for out of your pocket.
  2. Any damages to the other person’s vehicle that exceeds the $5000 in liability coverage you have on your “basic” policy would have to be paid for out of your pocket.
  3. Any damages to your vehicle would have to be paid for out of your pocket.

Your best bet would be to carry more than what the minimum required Jersey City car insurance coverage is, so that you don’t end up in financial trouble. Besides any little bit of money that you save from going with what’s minimally required for Jersey City car insurance is usually quickly kissed goodbye (plus more) in one car accident.

Winter and Your Fort Wayne Car Insurance

fort wayne car insurance

Hope this driver’s Fort Wayne car insurance has coverage for the damages.

Extreme winter can bring Fort Wayne car insurance claims you didn’t plan for, so play it safe.

Winter can be quite the trickster. You never know if it is going to be a nice mild winter with great driving conditions, or if we are going to face extreme polar vortexes that plunge the area into record breaking lows and layers of ice.

To keep safe during periods of extreme weather, the best thing to do is just not drive if you don’t have to. Also make sure that your Fort Wayne car insurance is current and has enough coverage to protect you financially, for the times that you do drive.

Fort Wayne Winter Safety Information

From the Indiana State Patrol, here are some driving tips to keep you safe during the winter:

  1. Keep extra blankets, food, and water in the car just in case you get stranded.
  2. If you get buried in snow on the side of the road, turn your hazard lights on and put a flag on your antennae to bring attention to yourself.
  3. Tell others where you are going and what roads you will travel when you are driving, during bad weather.
  4. Pull your car to the side of the road and call police immediately after a car accident. The only time you would not move your vehicle out of traffic is if there were injuries.
  5. Slow Down and give yourself extra time to get everywhere.

That last one will do wonders in keeping you out of a car accident and the premium for your Fort Wayne car insurance down.

Fort Wayne Car Insurance Tips

We all know that you have to have an insurance policy on your vehicle to be able to drive. The minimum insurance you are allowed to have, per the State of Indiana, are as follows:

  • Uninsured Motorists: Bodily Injury: $25,000/$50,000
  • Property Damage: $10,000
  • Under insured Motorists: Bodily Injury: $50,000

Aside from being required, having car insurance is just as important as all of the other safe winter driving tips from the ISP above. It is important because when the weather turns the roads bad, you have less control of your vehicle and an increased chance that you will end up hitting someone. Insurance protects you from having to pay for damages to another person’s vehicle or injuries out of your own pocket.

Another way to protect yourself in the winter with your car insurance is to make sure you have enough coverage for damages to your vehicle and any injuries to yourself or the other people in your car. Your Fort Wayne car insurance agent will be able to help you with the coverages you need for the best winter driving protection.

Happy New Year from Car Insurance Guidebook

car insurance

Helping you find ways to save money on your car insurance in 2014.

A New Year means time to check your car insurance.

Toasts, countdowns, and resolutions are all a traditional part of our celebrations as the New Year arrives. Many people resolve to lose weight, be nicer, spend less time on the internet, or whatever their current issues are that they would like to see a better outcome for in 2014.

One big resolution that many people make is an improvement in finances. And while we can’t help you become a millionaire by the end of 2014, we can help you find little ways to save money on your car insurance premiums.

Money Savings #1: Be a Good Driver

The fastest way to see your car insurance premium increase is to get a ticket or get into an accident. Insurance companies don’t like seeing either of these items on your record, especially if they have to pay for an accident, and they will raise your rates to make sure they are getting their money’s worth from you.

So just by obeying traffic laws and driving safely, you could save yourself hundreds of dollars in car insurance premium each term.

Money Savings #2: Shop Around for Car Insurance

Never get comfortable with your car insurance company to the point that you just let them raise your rates year after year. There are so many other car insurance companies out there that want you as their customer that you should have no problem finding one that will offer you better rates.

A word of advice though, when you do start to shop around have a copy of your current declaration page for your car insurance policy in front of you. This will allow you to compare similar coverages and their costs so that you can be sure that you are really getting a better price with another company.

Money Savings #3: Review Your Coverages

At least once a year go over what insurance coverages you currently have and review if you really need them anymore. For example, if you own multiple cars there is probably no reason to be paying for rental car coverage because you already have other vehicles to drive if you wreck one.

The same goes for towing coverage. If you have AAA or you have a roadside assistance program with your new vehicle you don’t need it on your car insurance policy also.

Money Savings #4: Find Payment Discounts

Most discounts on your car insurance policy you can’t control or change. However, you can control whether or not you get a payment discount. These discounts usually are given when you pay a car insurance policy in full or you opt for your car insurance payment to be automatically withdrawn from your bank account each month. Ask your agent about what payment discounts are available for your insurance company.

Do you know of any other ways to save money on your car insurance? Feel free to share your ideas below.

Merry Christmas and Safe Driving!

Written by Michele Wilmonen. Posted in Research Last Updated: 12/25/2013

safe driving

Safe driving sometimes means not driving at all.

All of us at Car Insurance Guidebook want to wish you a Merry Christmas and a safe driving holiday.

Amidst all of the fun, the presents, the food, and the merriment, most of us have some major driving to do today or in the days following to get to the friends and family members that we will be celebrating with. Before you go, we wanted to remind you of some ways to stay safe on the road today so that your holidays continue to be merry, and your insurance rates stay low as we head into 2014.

1) Safe Driving by Staying Home

Most of the nation has seen a very interesting winter so far in regards to weather. We have seen tornadoes, ice storms, snow in places that haven’t seen snow in years, and flooding. So, it is a good year to remind people that if there is dangerous or odd weather happening when you are supposed to be on the road, that you need to think twice about driving.

I know you have plans and places to be, but you won’t be enjoying these activities if they are preceded by a car accident on your way there. Sometimes it is just better to stay at home.

2) Safe Driving Around Children

The kids are out for Christmas Break and they are going to be outside playing, especially on Christmas Day. And since new Christmas toys are so much more interesting to pay attention to than cars driving in the neighborhood, you need to be the one to watch out for the kids.

Drive slowly through neighborhoods, stay alert, and be prepared to slam on those brakes.

3) Safe Driving Doesn’t Include Alcohol

If you are driving during the holidays stick to the delicious non-alcoholic versions of your favorite drinks. They taste almost the same as the fully loaded version so you will get to enjoy the drink, you will just be sober enough to drive afterwards.

If you go out with the same people all of the time or have other family members of driving age, take turns being the designated driver. That way one person doesn’t always get stuck with having to skip the alcohol and everyone has to take a turn making sure that everybody gets home safely.

And remember, staying safe behind the wheel is not only responsible, but is also rewarded with lower insurance rates.

Merry Christmas!

Car Insurance Guidebook Unravels the Car Insurance Mystery

Unless you work in the car insurance industry, the topic is probably a mystery to you. The words deductible, comprehensive, collision, liability, premium, loss of use and bodily injury are all gibberish when they reach your ears.

Unfortunately, insurance is something that you are required to have by law if you want to drive. Because of how confusing it is many people go around in almost an insurance daze while they get car insurance quotes from the auto insurance companies that they have heard of. In reality, they are completely lost as to what they are actually buying.

Instead of looking at what each insurance company offers in the terms of protection for both themselves and their car, they are instead looking for cheap car insurance. Finding the cheapest car insurance coverage makes having to buy the required product all that much less painful, but misses the whole point of having insurance.

Learning about insurance through your insurance agent or websites like Car Insurance Guidebook will give you the upper hand when you looking for car insurance. You can take your knowledge and not only find the best price for insurance, you can use it to find really great insurance to protect you and your assets. Then you aren’t stuck settling for just average car insurance that can hurt you financially if you ever need it because there isn’t enough protection.

For example, when looking for insurance the car insurance rates are just the first of many factors that need to be taken into account when you are shopping around for car insurance. You also need to take into account the type of vehicle that you are driving. Many people don’t know this.

Are you driving around a vehicle that is a new sedan and can be protected under any blanket insurance policy? Or do you have an old car that you fixed up that needs special protection and could be better covered under classic car insurance?

Don’t just assume that when you compare car insurance that it will be a one-size-fits-all policy. This is where the insurance knowledge will come in handy; you will know what you need to protect yourself and your vehicle.

You will understand what your insurance agent is talking about when they use insurance terms and you will actually be able to make an informed decision. This is much better for you instead of the “nod and smile” approach people take in their insurance agent’s office.

Also just like your life changes your insurance needs will change. This year you may just need to learn about the best deductible to have. Next year you may need to educate yourself on car insurance for young drivers. As the years pass, motorcycle insurance may be something you will need to know.

Many wise people say that you never stop learning, so take their advice and educate yourself on the insurance that you spend a lot of money on and can’t get away with not having.
