4 years I made all my payments on time, never filed a claim. The first time I need to file a claim, they refer me to a special investigator who says i am lying about what happened. Funny stuff, I wasn’t near my car when it happened, but when its a 5600.. claim they will say and do anything they can to not pay the claim. This company was great right up until you actually need them. I would suggest staying well clear of this “company” though Scam seems a more appropriate word for what these people do.

I have been a long time customer with plymouth rock nj and have had two seperate issues with claims. I had to do all the work behind both. I got no communication from them I had to call them to get paperwork processed and find out what was going on. The actual incident had me not at fault both times but couldn’t get my vehicles fixed because they refused to pay the full amt for repairs. This last time it seem because we both had the same insurance company they decided on a 50/50 split. Why? I wasn’t at fault so why not cover my damages? Because I’m a liablility only customer? Thats not right!!! I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone. Insurance companys need to be more concerned with their paying loyal customers then how much money they can collect without paying out! Just my thoughts! I left plymouth hopefully everyone else will too!

How does this company stay in business? I was a customer for 20 yrs. My car was hit by a HS kid , had witnesses and Police report to verify it was not my fault. I was treated like a criminal and had to go after the other Insurance Co. To get reimbursed , since I had to pay for the repair work myself!! The people I came into contact with connected to Plymouth Rock were rude and certainly not helpful!! Stay away from them!

Watch out paying with automatic bank payments. 2 years in a row they took an extra $25 from my account. I’m finally going to switch to the green guy and save some good money too.

Same scenario as some of the other commenters. A driver that was insured by Plymouth Rock crashed into my car and totaled it. I contacted the adjusters time after time and no one called or responded.

I was hit by a driver that has Plymouth Rock as their insurance company. The sent me an estimate 2000 dollars lower than 3 other body shop estimates. They said take it in and theyll pay the difference. Three days later i get a call saying my claim is denied. What?? The driver was at fault and ticketed, but they said I was at fault. WORST COMPANY EVER. more stress than it’s worth.

STAY FAR FAR FAR AWAY from plymouth rock .
I was hit by their drunk driver who was cited.
They cant get a hold of her so they can’t determine liability.
My car was hit while parked on the side of the road.
Is that my fault that she was drunk and hit my parked car????
and the rudeness of all the claims associates.
I cant get a hold of my adjuster or his supervisore.
STAY AWAY FAR FAR AWAY

I was with Plymouth Rock for over ten years and had excellent service with them, until this year. PR boosted my insurance premium to $1800/yr, from the previous $850/yr., stating that since I’d been involved in a collision 6 yrears ago, ( a collision that the other driver was cited by the Police for and was found to be 100% at fault for), that I was now classified as an unsafe driver.

I was in a fender bender and Plymouth Rock blamed me and assessed me a surcharge. I appealed and won, forcing Plymouth Rock to take back their claim.
In short, Plymouth Rock does not work for you. They do not investigate claims and they do not represent you!
At my Surcharge Hearing, I was introduced to reps from Plymouth Rock and was told the “represented me” . After a question or tow I proved they represented themselves and no one else.
If you have Insurance with Plymouth Rock, lose them fast. If you do not, don;t consider them.

Had them for 6 month. Had no accidents. Then decided to renew the policy for another 6 month. Thay qouted me 25% more. Ok. When tried to renew the policy after another 56 month the policy was up again 20%. The lady on the pnone said it was due to increased cost. I’m a good driver. Never had an accident. Should I recieve some discount after beinge wit them for a year? But no the charge even more. I did not renew the policy this time. What you know several montyh later I,m contacted by collection agency on behalf of Plymouth rock for outstanding one month bill. But I was never contacted by Plymouth rock who apparently renewd my policy without telling me so. The interestin thing is they never send a bill, or called or send a leter with outstanding payment. Nothuing. Straight to colelction agency and that after I was with them for a year, never filed a claim. Nothing. Be awarea and stay away from them.

This company is worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. The claims representatives are so rude and give lots of excuses not to finish the accident investigation to delay the payment. will avoid them at any cost.

I have been a customer of Teachers’ Ins.(now Ply. Rock) for many years. About 1 and a half years ago, when I was picking up my grandchildren form after-school care (It was dark as it was winter and about 6:00pm), I pulled over to the side of the road to speak with them. My car mirror was damaged as I “hit” a garbage can that was on the sidewalk but near the curb. It should have been in the street as a “robotic-arm” garbage truck picks it up and puts it down. I called the ins. co. and was told to get the mirror fixed. I paid the $100 deductible and was sent a check for $60. When it came time for renewal-in Sept., I found that it was called an At Fault accident and my policy went up by $600 This is to happen again this year, and won’t be removed until 3yrs. and 90 days. I also lost my 3 year good driving benefit. The customer service lady just laughed and said we learn from experience-meaning I should never have called it in. On the other hand, they are good with claims if it wasn’t your fault. Because of the garbage can incident though, I am trying to find another ins. co. It is a shame. They could have not called that an Accident and make me pay almost $2000 for that. I would rather pay another co. than giving them my money. Theyt do not care about people-maybe they would have if it happened to someone they knew or their own family!

I have been in the industry 16 years and have never run into a more unprofessional group of employees than I did when I had to make a call to their “Customer Service” Dept yesterday. After leaving several messages with an adjuster’s voicemail which were never returned, I made the mistake of calling their customer service in an effort to rectify the situation. After speaking with Laura and Lil, I would have preferred to have just left another unanswered voicemail. I thought maybe I caught them on a bad day, until I realized a co-worker had the same experience a day before. The one professional adjuster I did finally speak with seemed to have very little knowledge of the Mass Auto Policy. I truly do not blame the reps with which I spoke. This kind of incompetnece starts from the top down. I would urge anyone not to choose this carrier, because only frustration awaits you when the claims process begins.

I got hit 3 weeks ago and PR has yet to send in an adjuster or call me back from the 59 messages I have left them. I pay all this money to get nothing. And even better they have not even spoken to the other person who hit me. They basically said when I got a hold of them that it was the guys word against mine and they were not going to do anything about it. Not even try to get my money from the insurance company. They show their true colors at the end when they already have all your money and you have nothing. This insurance is a bunch of thieves and non-knowledgeable people. THANKS FOR NOTHING.

Worst car insurance company ever! Rude, unproductive, and no one has a clue what’s going on. They’re trying to breach their contract based on a driver who doesn’t even live with me, and has their own insurance carrier. They also neglect to mention they’ve been collecting a fee for this driver. I doubt I will ever see a refund for that! I would strongly recommend finding a company who actually knows what they’re doing, and is a little more respectful to their customers.

I have had only great experiences with PR who took over my insurance from Prudential who took it from HighPoint. None of these moves caused me any issues. Recently I have had to deal with them twice. Once, my 18 year old daughter’s car was rear-ended and written off by some high school idiot. That was on a Tuesday. I had a check for half the replacement value by Thursday and the remainder the following week. PR handled the claim knowing that it was the responsibilty of the other guys insurance company that would eventually have to pay. Great service and caring employees all asking after my daughter’s condition with apparent true concern. Luckily she only suffered some aches and pains.
About four month’s later I had to make my first every auto insurance claim that was not going to be paid by some other party’s insurance. My daughter had hit a rock in the road and caused damage to the radiator and some other components. Again, they paid within days, provided a rental and helped us select a local repair shop. When the estimate increased by a couple of thousand dollars, after the shop found damage that could not be seen without placing the car on a lift, it was handled between the shop and PR with no hassle whatsoever. I hate insurance companies in general but have to admit, my two recent expereinces have made me a fan of PR.

Horrible experience in MA. Our parked car was hit by a PR policy holder who was intoxicated in late afternoon. Our insurance company (Commerce) was wonderful, handled our claim quickly and effortlessly. We asked Plymouth Rock about a rental car while our car was being repaired. We received a letter approving the rental, then when the rental car company submitted the claim for $124.98, certainly not a lot of money, PR denied the claim and said they would only reimburse us directly. Will not return phone calls, and even the attempt to send something through “contact us” on their website bounces.

My vehicle was hit by a Plymoth Rock policy holder, my car was stopped and the other car backed into me. The rep is saying that this was half my fault so they will only pay 50% of the rental fee. I did not ask to be hit I just need a rental car to get back and forth to work. The rep assigned to the case was so rude indicating that I was at fault. I am still trying to get them to cover 100% of the rental car. Stay away from Plymout Rock.

Was rear ended by a youngster who when asked didn’t he see me, said he was picking something up off the floor. Not as bad as one my sister had hit her from behind at a stop sign, said he was reading the paper, and he was driving a cab!!!! Holly Molly!
Anyway my guy had Commerce, I have Plymouth Rock (right now am switching back to Commerce – had them years ago, forgot why i switched; could be to consolodate all SBLI, which I have for other insurances)
Long short of it, my PR insurance adjuster came right out and gave me a check. Perfect!. Can’t complain, right? Ended right there – the fun began with the office staff….forget it, mind as well deal with aliens.
No follow through, no nothing, no answer phones, not in office, no answer, don’t know why I don’t have my deductable back, oh let me ask so and so, ok let me give you this number to call, etc etc etc I think it is a one man operation and they need to run around looking for answers.
I finally got my deductable or half of what Commerce paid PR – can’t say how long this will take to rectify only that I better have nothing else to do that day!!!
Dealing with (his insurance) Commerce was great. They called me to say I can have a rental car and where i might go. I declined as i have many people around to help me out..
I hope others with less patience don’t use PR cause they’ll not be happy.

Worst car insurance ever! I dropped of my accident report and it mysteriously disappeared. When they called to speak to my mother, as it was her car I was driving, they were very rude to her because she does not speak English very well. When I went to drop off the second report, the receptionist made a black and white copy of the pictures I had They were black and white on printed paper and not clear at all, but she insisted I keep the pictures and the copies were just fine.
Whenever you sign up with an auto insurance you want someone who will be on your side and work to make the process after an accident quick and will work to make sure all details are correct. Plymouth Rock did neither. If your looking for a good car insurance agency, these people are NOT the ones you should consider!

I’ve been a plymouth rock customer for years never any problems untill lately! i was on vacation in california and my vehicle was stolen. i reported to the police when i came home and plymouth rock not only denied my claim but left me with a car with over 10k in damages and appraisal fees, storage fees and rental fees for the vehicle after they had totaled it and then gave it back to me. so because they told me it was totaled and to leave it at BMW for them look at it. i forgot to mention it sat there for 3 weeks for there lazy employees to look at it also. anyways long story short they almost cost me my job and my sanity. i would never recommend them to anyone i know and an currently getting the rest of my family out of their services.

Thankfully I am not a PR policy holder, but the other driver who backed out of his driveway on an icy street right in front of my vehicle is. Two weeks later, we are still getting the run around about a rental so when I called to express the inconvenience of trying to fit our family of six into any smaller vehicle I was told “sorry you have a big family”…excellent customer service, right? We are finally being faxed the paperwork to fill out in regards to “our” version of the accident even though the police report has statements from both operators. Wonderful stalling tactics!!!

my vehicle was hit by a PR policy holder. The driver admitted fault and offered to have a relative fix the door of my truck to avoid the ins. co. I opted to report it. Plymouth Rock will not pay full price, stating both drivers were at fault. In dealing with this company, they are very unprofessional. They are the typical ins. co. that takes the payments but refuses to pay out when they are supposed to.
Basically they are a bunch of thieves no different than someone who commits robbery. I would not have this company as my ins. co. under any circumstances

I was with Plymouth Rock for years when I lived in Massachusetts. I had no issues with them at all! You never really know how good your insurnace company is until you have a claim. I had a claim that was filed resulting from damage discovered when my car went into the dealership due to a recall. I was told I have extensive damage to my rims.I knew nothing of the damage to my rims and the mechanic said that it looked like someone had tried to steal them and there was several thousands of dollars in damage. I expected to have a hard time with the claims process, because there was no accident and I had no idea how the rims were damamged. Much to my delight, Plymouth Rock inspected my vehicle, spoke to the mechanic at the car dealership and paid them directly. All I had to pay was my $500 deductible.

I have used plymouth rock for years. Well vacationing in california I was attacked by a person who scrapped up my vehicle very badly and cut a hole in my convertible top. After going to the police, I called plymouth rock and the representative that handled my call was very pleasant. She took down all my information and opened my case. Within a matter a days plymouth rock had investigated the claim and cut me a check IN CALIFORNIA. needless to say I was thrilled at such a fast and speedy service.
However, a year or two later I had the complete opposite experience. Well on another vacation my vehicle caught on fire due to an engine malfunction. I cleary saw flames shoot below the vehicle and it even melted my door panels. I again called plymouth rock who finally after several days of me being stranded out of state the FINALLY sent an appraiser. another week goes by and they decline my coverage as a “rusted out catalytic converter” with NO FIRE DAMAGE and REFUSED TO PAY. Im from a cold weather state so they thought they could get away with it. too bad my car is always garaged winters. Just goes to show you it can be hit or miss.
It all depends on how competent the individual rep assigned to the case is. I give them 3 stars because they did there job good 50% of the time.
