RLI is a specialty insurance company that got their start insuring contact lenses in 1965. Since then they have offered more and more insurance products to their clients, but have continued to remain focused on specialty products.

They do not offer day-to-day car insurance. They instead offer umbrella policies you can purchase to provide you with additional coverage above and beyond your normal car insurance policy if you have a lot of assets to protect. They also offer car insurance coverage if you race your vehicle on a racetrack. Racing is not covered under your regular car insurance coverage, so RLI provides a policy that will cover that gap for you.
