I like State Farm for my auto insurance. They are always friendly and very informative.
I had an incident last year. I was driving home on the interstate and my car started to slow down. It was losing power. So I pulled over to the side of the road before the car completely stopped. I thought maybe it had got over heated or something, so I waited a few minutes and tried to start the ignition. It would not start after several attempts, by this time it was dark outside.
I contacted my state farm agent and they gave me help with emergency road service. The agent connected me to the service and stayed on the phone with me until she knew that a tow-truck was on the way. After I payed the tow fee and submitted the receipt to my agent, they reimbursed me for the fee the same day.

As an insurance agent for a life, accident, and health company, I recognize what makes a stellar agent.
For my other insurance needs, such as for automobile insurance, I look for a company that gives individual service and has the assets in case I need to make a claim. For my automobile, I choose State Farm for my property and casualty insurance. The service I get from State Farm is excellent.
When my car was involved in a collision,my State Farm agent, immediatly went to work for me.They contacted the poice department, they worked with the insurance company of the driver who hit me, and they kept me informed each step of the process. He got me an acceptable settlement within two days.
They have individual agents that work with their clients face-to- face. You are not dealing with a computer or some disembodied voice at a distant call center. The individual agent structures automobile policies to meet the needs of the client, not for a fast sale.
State Farm works on a payment plan that will not hurt your budget. Some people may be intimidated by the size of a company like State Farm. They should not be. Their business model works for the individual client on a personnel level to make sure your needs are set and that you leave a satisfied client.
There are those who think they can get better rates by going online. I thought so too. However, State Farm was competetive as well as less expensive than other companies that do business online. Like thier advertisements say, they are like a good neighbor and they are there. For your automotive insurance needs, I would recommend that you give State Farm a call.

I have to say that i really like having insurance with state farm. i started with them 8 years ago when i was 16. I was able to lower my bill on my vehicle with their different savings. I took drivers ed in High school so that qualified me for a discount, i recieved a discount for good grades, and i also did their good driver program where i recorded every where i drove, how long and etc.
I have to admit i wasnt exactly that happy with the agent i had at that time he didnt seem to really care and was just doing his job. He seemed to be more helpful when i was with my mom on the account and would help us that way but as soon as i moved out and went to college and started paying it on my own its like he didnt have time for me or wanted to help me! i ended up getting fed up with him and ended up transferring it to the city i was attending school in and added my husband to my account and they were the most helpful people i have ever expiernced.
If i had a simple question they would help me untill i understood it, if i was going to be late with a payment they understood! and helped me take care of it so it didnt harm my record! We ended up moving 30 mins away from them and we have our own statefarm here but i refused to transfer my account because i had found people that were willing to help me any way they could and i was not going to lose that.
I was happy that my insurance didnt go up with my husband and even buying a newer vehicle. They were even able to help us drop it a dollar or so every couple of months! My husband was even suprised with the service and prices because hes only ever had issues with other companys and/or was charged outrageously for their service. I recommend them to everyone i possibly can!

I have had State Farm as my insurance company for 13 yrs ever since the age of 16 when i purchased my first vehicle. This is also the company that my parents have used for years for all types of insurance coverage that they have needed. Which is why it was obvious which insurance company i would join once i started to drive.
I have never had any issues with this company in the entire 13 years that i have been with this company. They have always been quick to help me with any issues that i might have had as well as to pay on claims that they necessarily wouldn’t have had to due to the accident being my fault.
When i started to date my husband he had another insurance company who he was not entirely happy with. I was quick to recommend State Farm to him and he changed right away. We now have them for all of our insurance needs and have since gotten his entire family to change over to State Farm.
I think what makes State Farm stand out about all other insurance companies is that they seem to actually care about you not only as a client but as a person. They help you make decision that are best for you and your family without caring how much money they are making off of you. This will definitely be our insurance company for many years to come wither via online or in person they have my vote for number 1 insurance company.

I have always been impressed with the service that I receive at State Farm. I have had insurance through them ever since I turned 16 and got my license. At first, I was a part of my parent’s insurance through State Farm. Now that I am a little bit older, I have my own policy though this company. I have been nothing but impressed with them.
I have only had once accident in which I had to make a claim with State Farm. They were incredibly easy to get ahold of, they seemed like they cared about my situation, and they were very personable about my experience. I love how local State Farm is. I did not have to call some 1-800 number to report my accident, I called my local insurance agent and was able to speak with one of his representatives directly regarding my claims.
I once had an accident in which I had to deal with someone else’s insurance company. They were difficult to get ahold of, and the process did not go nearly as smoothly as my claim process went with State Farm. That experience really made me appreciate the insurance company that I had.
I think State Farm commercials are spot on in their advertising of their company, claiming that they are a very personable and reliable company. I would recommend State Farm to anyone who is looking to buy insurance from a company with great rates and even better customer service.

I have never had a bad experience with them. I have not ever had to much actually contact with their customer service, but when I do it is good. I even know several people personally that work with the company and they often go the extra mile to help their customers. Even driving out to other locations if needed.
The cost is pretty average. Its not amazing, but with this economy its doable. I even was able to receive payment reductions for having good grades in high school. This was a great help when I graduated and went to college because my family had extra money to put towards school instead of insurance. They even sent all the forms to us and notified us about the deductions. We did not have to go looking for it ourselves, which was great. I was surprised that they were able to find out about my graduation year and send us that paperwork when we needed it.
I have never been screwed over by them like I have heard about other companies doing. They always seem to be ahead of the game when it comes to finding solutions to problems before they even arise for a customer.

I would not recommend State farm to anyone. I have been a customer for over 20 years and was hit in a brand new car by a driver who ran a stop sign. They would not total my car instead opted to cut the frame. I will be stuck with a car that is of far less value in the end. They have not made any contact with the other parties insurace.

I have been with State Farm since I moved to California eight years ago. Have used the same agent all eight years. Car and home is with the same agent. I believe I get some lower premiums because car and home are together. I have shopped around for lower prices every two years or so. Called GMAC, Nationwide, etc to see if they could give better coverage for same or lower rate.
State Farm has always been the lowest with the best coverage. Have worked with agent in past to lower premiums via lower deductibles, pay up front for an entire year. The agent has been able to adjust our coverage to save some money.
When we were shopping for a new car I gave the agent a list of cars we were thinking of buying and they were able to provide how much insurance would cost for each vehicle. That affected which car we bought. I also liked the fact that I sent them an email with the information and they emailed me back. Matter of fact when we bought the car I sent the VIN number via phone to agent so they could add the car to our policy and remove the car used as a trade in.
My wife got a moving violation ticket a few years ago. This should have increased our premiums but our agent explained that there was a class she could take. Once the class was completed I believe the premiums stayed the same. We both felt the agent went out of her way to help resolve the issue. We have never had to fill a claim so don’t know how state farm or agent would handle that situation.

I have been with State Farm Auto Insurance for well over 10 years, and have been very pleased with the service, my advisor, and the price and deals that they offer. State Farm is on the cutting edge of technology, making it possible to not only make a claim on my cell phone, but also take pictures, write detailed accounts, and even map out what happened on their convenient app.
I have been very pleased with State Farm Advisor. My advisor is very helpful in simplifying policies, and less of a salesman, but as a partner, helping me choose the right policy. He was willing to spend a great deal of time with me, going over the minute details, and had my full attention the whole time, which made me very comfortable taking his advice. My Advisor is constantly looking for ways to lower my price, whether it be for discounts available to me, or other options as well.
State Farms is a great company to be with because not only do I get low charges for auto insurance, but I can also group that with my home insurance, and save even more money, which is an incredible deal. On top of that, by not having an accident, my payments are lowered even further. I have compared prices with comparable companies, and State Farms is definitely the way to save. With incredible customer service, fast claims, and knowledgeable advisors, the services provided by State Farms can not be beat. I would highly recommend State Farms for anyone looking for Auto Insurance. With them, you are not just a number in my opinion, but a partner for life.

I would have to say these folks are a 5 star insurance company.Ive been with State Farm insurance company for over 10 years. The folks know me by name and not by a policy number. When I call with a problem, they always work with me.
Once for example,my car insurance was due on 2 cars.I would not have the money to pay until 4 days after the premium was due. These folks told me not to worry, they will take care of it,because they know I would pay,Ive been paying them for years. They said my policy would not lapse.Thats a good feeling to have,in case I ever have a similar emergency like that in the future.
The year I was involved in a 4 car accident due snow and ice on the interstate.I called my insurance company.Instead of getting down to business, the first question the secretary asked me was “Are you okay”? That was a good feeling, hearing that they were concerned about my well being. The claims dept came out on the 3rd day after the accident, took pictures and told me what to expect. The whole process was pretty fast.My car was repaired, with original replacement parts. These folks handled everything with full profesionalism.
Just 3 weeks ago,a driver ran into my car that was parked in front of the post office. This driver has State Farm insurance, too. There was a lot of damage to the body, and car would not start.Turns out the frame was warped, ruined.Instead of patching up the car,State Farm totaled my car and bought me a newer model of same car.I have had many years experience with state Farm,I think these folks are top notch and very professional.I couldn’t imagine choosing a different company.

I have been insured by State Farm since I was 16. I am now 25. I was involved in my first accident at 20, and even though I wasn’t the driver, State Farm provided coverage for my Chiropractic bills.
When I was 22, I was involved in my first accident where I was at fault (even though I was rear ended). The whole process of having the damage assessed, to getting a rental, to getting a check for the totaling of my car (which became my down-payment for a new car) took about 3 weeks total. I was very pleased to be on with my life, without skipping a beat!
I have seen all of the incentives that GEICO and Allstate offer, and that’s all fine and dandy. But I’ve also seen my friends wait weeks and even months to be able to make a claim, to get an agent to assist them in renting a car, etc. I’ve seen them have to come out of pocket for fees (“to be paid back later”). I could go on and on about how “you get what you pay for”. And honestly, I don’t mind spending just a little bit extra to ensure that I’ve got the coverage that I need.
They even offer discounts on my renter’s insurance. And when I was in school I got “good grades” discounts, so I think it really evens out, and it’s well worth the “expense” when you aren’t having to worry about how you’re going to get from Point A to Point B after you’ve been in an accident.

I would definitely recommend State Farm to anyone looking for insurance, or anyone that isn’t satisfied with their own.
I have had State Farm as both my car insurance company, and renters insurance. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and I’ve never had a problem with them. Anytime I need to add a car, remove a car or change my insurance in any way, they immediately take care of it, plus they can immediately fax you temporary insurance cards to make sure you are always covered.
I’ve been in a couple different accidents, and they take care of the problem immediately. They sent someone out the next day to look at the damage, wrote out a check on the spot, and I was instantly able to get my car repaired. Plus they provided a rental car in the meantime.
My insurance rate has consistently dropped over the years (for turning 21, 25, getting married, etc) and my rate is lower now than any quote I’ve gotten from other insurance companies. They are very reliable, and I have never had problems in dealing with any of their staff. There have been a couple times that I have called them during off hours, but my call was immediately returned the following morning.
If you’ve been considering changing insurance companies, make State Farm one of you first calls, at times their prices may be a little higher than other insurance companies, but car insurance isn’t one thing you want to be cheap about. The first time you get into an accident, you want an insurance company that you can trust will be able to handle the accident professionally and quickly. I have had State Farm since for over 9 years, and definitely do not plan on making a change anytime soon.

I have had a mixed experience with State Farm. On the plus side, my agent Daniel has been attentive and available when I signed up, and was helpful in getting my premiums lowered when I renewed due to my overall driving record.
On the negative side, however, I found that the claims adjuster was unhelpful after my car was taken for a joy ride by a neighbor, who crashed and dented my bumper. They denied the claim because I did not have theft coverage. I understand why they did so, but they were very rude about it and adversarial.

I have had auto insurance through State Farm since I first started driving as a teenager. My immediate family always used State Farm for auto coverage so I was added to the existing policy.
My first experience with State Farm claims is when I accidently side-swiped a dumpster while trying to parallel park. Having a $250 deductible was beneficial to me as a young driver with little savings. After paying my deductible, State Farm covered the repair plus the rental car I used while my car was being repaired.
When I first got married, my husband and I had different companies for our auto insurance. After comparing his coverage (Allstate) to my State Farm coverage, we decided that State Farm was the better deal for us. We appreciate the multiple-line discounts and the timely adjustments to our premiums. When my husband was side-swiped while he and our son while driving home, he experienced first-hand the great service provided by the State Farm claims department. After paying our deductible State Farm once again covered the repair plus the rental car. We were constantly updated on the status of our claim and received our payout shortly after initiating the claim.
Lastly, State Farm has great agents representing their brand. When my family had to relocate to a different state we had to transfer our auto policy to a new agent. The agent from our previous city worked to insure a smooth transition to a new State Farm agent by making calls and faxing the needed documentation. We are just as happy with our new agent in our new town.

We use State Farm Insurance for our two cars, and our home insurance. We’ve been with them for 15 years and have enjoyed superior service from our agent. We’ve had a couple of fender-benders, and the customer service was excellent. The agent’s office answered the phone personally, no voice-mail hell, or “push 1 to be connected….” type of recording. I really appreciate that.
The claims were handled quickly and professionally, no run around at all. Our agent was very responsive to our needs, and we were able to get our car taken care of without any hassles. We also had someone break into our Prius. They smashed the passenger-side window, and rifled through the glove compartment and console. They didn’t steal anything (thank God) because I don’t keep valuables in the car, but it was a mess. I called in the issue to see what our deductible was, but it turned out the repair was less expensive than the deductible, so we took care of it ourselves. The office was very sweet and even though we didn’t file a claim, they offered to help me find a repair shop. I declined the offer, but appreciated it.
I also pay our bills online. I have found this to be a really helpful tool, as I hate writing checks and looking for stamps. The online bill-pay feature is easy to set up and use. I can pay the premium in two payments if I need to or all at once. I have even called in my payment when I’ve forgotten to go online. I just call the agent’s office, give them my name, and they bring up the policies that are due. Once I give them my credit card number, it’s all taken care of.
Simply put, State Farm Insurance has been a wonderful company to work with. While I am glad that we haven’t needed to use them very often, I am impressed with the interactions that I have had with their office.

I am currently with State Farm. I was happy in the beginning, but in the state of Florida city Ocala county of Marion if your music (was) heard from over 25 feet yes 25 feet you would get a noise violation I got 6 and 3 seatbelt violations.
My parents grand parents have been with state farm for over 50 years and they have paid good money for good insurance our insurance agent tried his hardest to keep us insured but (corporate) denied it. I was going to have to pay 14k for my premium and it was half the coverage. They are strict I am not a bad driver but they were all about money as is any company.
The customer service is terrible and the only thing I had was good coverage, they are over priced and do not tolerate anything including non-moving violations. I would not recommend them to any person who is seeking decent coverage for a good price. I think it is absurd that they would threaten to drop my entire immediate family unless we signed a notarized contract saying we would not come within 2 feet of there vehicles!!!
I am dropping them today and switching to geico much better rates… I was very upset with this and so was my local agent they have great local help and agencies but there corporate is ruthless they put up with nothing and try to trick you and threaten you. I would never recommend them to anyone for auto insurance or home insurance.

We had a rather unusual situation arise this past summer. We had just purchased a new car, which was involved in an accident just 13 days after the purchase, sustaining severe damage but fortunately no injuries.
I have been insured through State Farm since I started driving over 30 years ago, and have a great relationship with my agent. My wife made the call to them to report the accident – the office staff was super-quick to reassure her and make arrangements for our claim to be submitted. We had the car towed to the dealership, and it was soon determined that it was beyond economical repair. Our State Farm agent and staff were always available to answer any questions we had, and their online service was impeccable as well. They walked us through the process of making sure our claim was complete, and handled paying off the car loan and sending us the remaining funds very quickly. Even the rental car service was above average – we had the check in hand before our rental car coverage ran out and were able to purchase another new car very quickly.
While our premiums did go up a bit, I consider the increase to be fair given the nature of the accident and the damage. We even got our deductible and rental car out-of-pocket costs reimbursed. I would certainly recommend State Farm as a car insurance vendor to anyone who needs good coverage, outstanding service and fair premium pricing. I’ll be with them for life.

Just like the commercial, State Farm has always been there for me. For better or worse, I tend to be an aggressive driver, and that combined with living in a snowy mountain town has led to several accidents I short order.
One time, specifically, I was rounding a turn and hit a patch of black ice and ran off the side of the road into a ditch. The front end of my car was nearly totaled. Luckily it was all cosmetic damage, though I did come extremely close to cracking my radiator. I had it towed to the local dealership, because even though they may be a touch more expensive, I tend to trust their work more than local mechanics that I don’t know in a small town. State Farm was out to survey the damage and provide an estimate within a day – quite impressive considering I lived in a rural mountain town. They were fair and the work was finished quickly. The claim went through without a hitch.
Since then I’ve gotten into another accident in another city, and although I didn’t have to make a claim on it, I felt that State Farm had my back. The service agent was quite helpful on the phone and told me “just let us know if you need to use your policy”. Although I believe the prices can be a tad bit high compared to other companies, I will always stick with State Farm because I know I am in good hands.

I have been insured by State Farm since I was 16 years of age. I am currently 28 years old. My parents have been insured by State Farm since they began driving and have stayed with them ever since. I have never had a problem with State Farm until I got off my parents insurance and began my own automotive policy with them.
When I came in to sign the documents, I was shocked at the price that they quoted me. It was triple what I was paying under my parents. I asked why it cost so much. They informed me it was going up because I no longer was under a multi-line policy, like my parents, who had home and multiple autos under the same policy. I thought it was ridiculous, since I have never had an accident or any kind of vehicle code violation on my record.
I began looking over the documents. My agent was pressuring me to sign right away, telling me that she would make me a copy of the documents and I could review them at home. I became a little upset at this and refused to sign without reading the contract. I am glad I did because I began reading what products my agent was trying to force me to sign up for. I was extremely upset when I found out that she was trying to not only sign me up for auto insurance, but also life, renters, and some other product that if I had a hardship the insurance would pay my monthly payment.
I made it very clear over the phone with my agent before I stepped foot in the office, that all I wanted was auto insurance. I almost left the office and canceled my policy with them. My agent corrected the issue right away and apologized. She gave me a load of crap explanation that she thought I wanted these products and that they would benefit me. I explained to her that I felt she was trying to take advantage of me, that she thought I was some under educated kid that would just sign away.
I explained to her that my work already offered me these insurances and I am sufficient in those areas of insurance. Despite that incident, I am still with them. My rate is low and I get my good drivers discount. I have never had any other problems.

It’s all well and good unless you have a claim….
We had a deer strike, that knocked out a headlight crushed in a front panel and door, as it turned out in my opinion it also damaged the fans on the radiator because they quit working at the same time. When they repaired the body work they found the damage was “more extensive” than initially thought, and charged them about 20% more than the estimate. When I took the car in to the mechanic and found out the fans failed (same time as deer strike) I called the agent, they went out and have denied the fans because there was “no visible damage at that location”.
When I got the car appraised for the bodywork at one of the shops State Farm recommended, they noted that since the headlight was out it was not “street legal’ and I could use my rental coverage and have State Farm provide me a vehicle. I declined what would have been a $630 cost to State Farm (21 days until was fixed at $30/day) I had 2 other cars sitting at home, so I figured I’d keep costs down for everyone. I Paid extra for that privilege, but wanted to treat the company right, unlike they treated me.
When I found out there was more extensive damage than expected by the body work, and that the fans had “suddenly’ quit working at the exact same time, we called State Farm back and had them check it out. State Farm denied it was caused by the deer and rejected the claim.
This is not the first instance I’ve had difficulty with State Farm (different agent), but it will be the last. We are switching as soon as we can.
They were even going to CHARGE ME TO LEAVE EARLY!!!!! About $80 for cancelling 2 months early. So I might just have to stay with these crooks(my opinion), for 2 more months so I wont be penalized.
Why oh why did I stay with State Farm for over 20 years. A HUGE mistake. 4 out of 4 auto claims have been a COMPLETE nightmare.
First, (around 1992) CD player stolen, denied it was covered in policy until I pointed it out to them in my copy of the policy, then insisted on seeing a receipt which took weeks to pull from Circuit City, then only wanted to pay 1/2.
Second, (around 1995) VW Golf front end damaged, they were never able to get oil pressure sensor to not alarm on hot days, then said they weren’t going to pay anymore.
Third, (around 1997)Deer strike on another car, sub-par body work/painter State Farm recommended took several times (weeks and weeks) to get to be acceptable.
Fourth, (2012)Painter/Body work did a fair job, but State Farm denied additional damage under hood was result of strike
I have zero traffic violations, and my wife of 12+ years hasn’t had any since we got married. If they don’t want to honor our agreements for our Auto/Home/Umbrella/and personal property policies anymore, I’ll be happy not to beg them to keep stealing my money (over $2,700/year) with no real protection.

Originally I had another auto insurance (who shall remain names less) when I purchased my first car. The Monthly was expensive; as expected of a customer of my age of 21 but my mom was a regular at their local office so I decided it was probably worth it. Not until one day I was venting to a coworker about all my expenses that he recommended I speak to his insurance; State Farm. I figured it wouldn’t hurt so I grabbed the number and gave them a call.
Upon entering the office, the receptionist was very kind and attentive asking me if I would like a bottle of water while I waited (which wasn’t long). In addition I noticed that they had small marquee of daily updates with a welcome message with my name on it. When I spoke to the agent representative I gave her my information and she was able to quote me a monthly a little less than a 100 dollars then what I was currently paying; plus added benefits such as locksmith reimbursement and a simple death benefit in the event of an accident. Being the frugal shopper that I am I did little shopping around for the best deal; but was futile because everywhere else I went it was more, which sealed the deal.
A year after I had my first accident driving down an incline in bad weather causing my vehicle to loose traction and hydroplane into an entrance of a parking lot. The accident left me nervous not only because I’ve never been in one before but I didn’t know what was going to happen with my insurance. Through the entire process the local office and customer service was very understanding and guided me through everything. They responded quickly with a rental and answered any questions I had.
Since then I’ve kept my auto and returned for renters and life as well. I would gladly recommend them to anyone shopping around for insurance.

I currently have homeowners, auto and life insurance with State Farm. In the past I have had renters insurance with them.
In my honest opinion State Farm’s rates on vehicle insurance and their home owner insurance are higher than most, their life insurance rates are good. I am pretty sure there are other companies that have better package deals and rates. If you take the time to look you would be surprised.
I have been with this insurance company for 17 years. My experience has varied over those 17 years. My first agent and his staff were pleasant. They were very accommodating and insightful. When I had a question or problem they were always available.
When my agent left the company another agent took his place. She pretty much picked up where he left off. She and her staff are all pleasant.
I have moved and have been dealing with a new agent for 8 years. I am not pleased at all with my new agent and have been trying to find another to replace him. He is not really a peoples person, his office staff has only consisted of 1 other person since I have been with his agency. That person was very rude and unpleasant to deal with. They go on lunch breaks and don’t come back on time. They are very unprofessional. I have walked into the office for help (which is rare) and the agent himself has walked by the door seen me in the waiting area and ignored me. Since he did not acknowledge me I just walked out.

State Farm has always provided fantastic customer service, from Claim Central to the receptionist in my agent’s office. Whenever I call State Farm, I always feel like my needs are going to get met quickly and effectively, without hearing excuses. Below I have listed some examples as to why I am so happy with State Farm.
When I was in an accident in 2010, State Farm provided excellent claim service. My claim was filed before the Highway Patrol even reached the scene! The agent I spoke with at Claim Central (my agent’s office was closed because of the early hour) was professional, courteous, and efficient at getting the information entered quickly and correctly. During the course of my medical care as a result of the accident, State Farm was always very prompt at responding to requests from my attorney.
The only negative thing I can say about this experience is the Independent Medical Examination to determine if I should still be covered under PIP was bogus, as the MRI I had done clearly showed permanent damage to my spinal discs. I chalk this up to business, pure and simple. The IME wants to still be a referral doctor for the company so of course he would skew his “findings” to support saving the company money. In another instance, my agent actually called me to find out if the insurance company for the at-fault party in another accident had reimbursed my 20% rental coverage, since there had been an investigation to determine the at-fault party, causing us to initially run the claim through our policy. I was so glad they did call, too, because we had NOT been reimbursed! State Farm had already received their 80% portion through arbitration so they had no stake in making sure that we got our money, except to be, as their company slogan says, a “good neighbor.”
Another great feature of having State Farm is their iPhone app. Using this app, I can document an accident without having to call the claim center. I have used the app on one occasion to report an accident and I was very pleased with the outcome. I would recommend State Farm to anyone as a reliable company that stands up for their clients and makes sure things work out.

I have had my auto insurance with State Farm for over fifteen years and I can honestly say I will never use another insurance company.
I have had several things happen where I have needed to use my insurance policy and the local agent as well as the claim offices have always been nothing but helpful and courteous. The last time I needed to use my policy was just a few months ago. I was driving on the interstate and it was raining really hard. Luckily, I was driving well below the speed limit because I hit what appeared to be a small stream in the road and lost control of my car. Because of this I hit the median pretty hard. I was okay, just a little sore, but my car ended up being totaled.
After I called my husband, I called my State Farm agent. They were so nice and talked me down from my state of shock. They kept me on the line and called a tow truck. Since it was raining, I wanted to get out of the rain and I ended up leaving my car. That was not the best decision since as soon as I left, the state trooper called his own tow truck and my car ended up “lost”. The lady at State Farm knew I was not in any state to try and find my car so she called around until she found where my car was. She then called me back and told me the tow truck was going to pick up my car and bring it to the body shop of my choosing.
This was not an enjoyable situation, but the people at my local State Farm office, as well as the people at the claims office made the situation easy for me to deal with insurance wise. They were so nice and helpful and answered all the questions I had. They went out of the way to make this situation as easy as possible for me.

I have been with State Farm Automobile Insurance for about five years. In their commercials, they always claim, “Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there!” However, I have not always found this to be the case.
Sure, there have been positive times, like when I hit my sister’s car when backing out of my driveway. They were quick to helping me through my situation without a huge bump to my premium.
However, there have been times where I had lost my insurance card. I would call this insurance company requesting a new card, and it would take weeks for them to get a new one to me. It is very risky to drive around without proof of insurance, so one would think that the company would be immediately helpful and very responsive to the needs of its customers, but it did not work like it would in a perfect world.
It just seemed like the company would respond to anything that would make it any sort of money, but fall out on its customers when they request the items they need to use their service. Now, money is the driving force behind any company, I understand that, but I would want an insurance company that is prepared to deal with my needs, not its own needs.
In conclusion, this company is not the best for customer service, but will help when in an accident. I do not recommend this company to anybody who would consider themselves to be irresponsible with possessions, but the price they charge is decent for the services that they provide.

I was driving in a parking lot on a weekday and a teenager ran a stop sign and hit me. The worst part about the situation was that the teen was ditching school and when he got out of his car to see if I was ok, he left his car running and accidentally locked his doors. So in addition to the accident, he was now locked out of his car and it was running. The poor kid had to call his father at work to get his spare keys. His father was so upset with him.
Luckily he and I both had State Farm Insurance and filing a claim was so easy. His agent was very nice and kept in contact with me. I was given a rental car and asked to take my car to the place of my choice to have it repair. There was over $3000 in damages done and I didn’t have to pay or worry about a thing.
Every step of the claim process was easy and the State Farm agent called me often just to make sure that I was being taken care of and that I was happy. I have never been in that serious of an accident before and I was nervous and scared when the guy hit me. I was then concerned about whether or not he was even going to have insurance. When I found out that he had State Farm, it gave me instant relief.
The customer service was wonderful, the claims department was awesome, the agent’s office staff were so nice. To top it all off, my car came out looking wonderful and I was happy.

State Farm has been the company I use for my auto insurance, for the past 10+ years.
Prior to State Farm, I had Safeco Insurance. I paid them on time, I had no incidents or accidents, and I had their insurance for several years. However, Safeco dropped me when they decided to start using customers’ credit scores to determine their “worthiness.”
State Farm was a company that I had heard great things about, but was now concerned that perhaps they would not take me on, given the fact that my credit was not perfect. I checked out “alternative” insurance companies like Progressive, and it felt like I was being punished with high insurance rates – not for my driving record, but for my credit report.
Frustrated, but still having hope, I stopped by my local State Farm office. I liked how, every city I lived in, there always seemed to be an office for a State Farm agent nearby. I entered the location, was welcomed in a friendly manner, and when I told them of my frustrating experience with Safeco, they reassured me that State Farm does not discriminate in this manner. They provided me with a quote right then, explained the details of the policy in terms I could understand, and asked about my experience with home owners or rental insurance. I was provided with options that worked for my living situation, my financial situation, and for my peace of mind.
There was no hesitation on my end to sign up with State Farm right then and there. I felt like a valued customer, and even 10 years later, I still feel valued. My agent has never changed. She sends me Birthday and Christmas cards every year, and calls a couple of times a year to see if I have any questions about any other policies we could add to my current one.
I appreciate that she is not overbearing, but she keeps an active roll in my life so that I know she is still there when I need her. Because of my agent, my experience with State Farm has been fabulous!

I’ve had State Farm car insurance for a long time (became a customer right after I enrolled in college). My parents have been State Farm customers for over 20 years themselves (they love it) which is why I turned to State Farm in the first place.
I’m an excellent driver but I did have an incident one year where another driver hit my rear bumper while I was stopped at a red light and then graciously took off. It took a few more days than I thought it should have for my claim to be processed and approved, but it was ultimately taken care of (and to my satisfaction). Other than that one accident, I have thankfully not needed to file any other claims.
I stopped paying attention to my rates at some point over the years. I typically allowed the premiums to be automatically deducted from my bank account and also let the policy auto renew at the end of every term. I did this for years. After I got married I still kept my policy and even talked my wife into switching over. However, a few cars into our marriage I finally started paying attention to the rates, especially when we realized the premiums became a little too high to fit our budget.
We own one of the more expensive cars to insure AND in one of the most expensive states in the country to insure it in (double whammy) so the cost wasn’t too surprising. Still, we had to come to terms with the fact that it was time to shop around and compare rates. I decided to call State Farm and let them know that we were considering walking if we couldn’t get a cheaper premium. They were totally understanding and accommodating.
Turns out I just needed to call them, because after that phone conversation we received a decent discount on our policy. Good thing too because we have been really happy with them (never had any issues with their service) and we would’ve hated to turn to a new company.

I have been with State Farm Car Insurance since I started driving, which was over ten years ago. I have chosen to stay with this company because I have nothing but good things to say about them and have had no negative experiences for all of these years.
The first thing that I would like to talk about is the friendliness of the staff at the office that I go to. All of the employees are smiling and greet you by name when you walk in. They are always eager to help you if you are having a problem and quickly get them figured out. They genuinely care about your well-being and want to make sure that you are happy and satisfied with their service before you leave the office.
The price and quality of the insurance is also of utmost importance to me as I consider a car insurance company and that is why I have chosen to stay with State Farm and why I am so pleased with them. They have always given me a “good student discount” throughout high school and also when I have been in college due to my good performance in school. This really has helped me due to being a poor college student and I can use all of the discounts that I can get.
I have also been a victim of a couple car accidents and my representative and staff have always tried their hardest to get me my deductible as soon as possible and are always helpful. I hope that this has helped you realize how great of a service State Farm Insurance is. I am thankful to have them for my insurance company and thank you for reading this comment.

I have been with State Farm for 10 years. Recently, I tried to add my husband onto my policy. He has had a few tickets, so we knew the price would be a lot more than the $85 I was paying a month. They told us that we would have to pay $400 a month! Obviously, we said no. They said I would have to sign an exclusion form saying that my husband would not drive my car. I said that was fine. Instead of receiving the form in the mail, I received a cancellation notice. They just cancelled my policy! I was furious! Because my account was connected to my mom’s, they even changed her monthly payment to $400. She has been with them for over 20 years! I don’t know what that was about. They really know how to treat loyal customers! Also, everyone we spoke to was extremely rude. I even made a claim a few years ago, and when I called after my accident, the man was impolite and rude. My husband and I are now with Geico. They treat us a lot better. And we’re paying under $200 a month. My mom will be leaving them as well and going to AAA. Avoid State Farm if you can!

I have had a very positive experience with State Farm on all four of the vehicles my wife and I have insured with them. One nice thing is that there seems to be a local office nearby in each place I’ve lived (Seattle, Louisville, and outside of Louisville). Being able to drop in and to see a real live person has been very helpful–I feel like I get better service and less wait-time that way. Also, when my wife and I moved from Seattle to Louisville, KY, we dropped by the local agent’s office and they made it very easy to transfer our account. I have not had any accidents (knock on wood), so I have not yet had to deal with that aspect.
Furthermore, one good tip is that when I was in Seattle, they allowed me to do this driving course that gave me a discount. We also benefit from multi-line discounts. It’s been a very positive experience! I originally chose State Farm because it is what my parents always used. They were happy with it, and in their lifetimes have had a few accidents they had to deal with.
They have never had any complaints about their insurance; everything has always been handled well without any hassles. I thought it best to stick with what they had a good experience using. The rates have been good, which is important as we are just starting our family and don’t have a lot of extra budget to spare. I foresee us sticking with State Farm for the rest of our driving lives!

I’ve been with State Farm Insurance for years and I have never regretted it. When I was in college, a local insurance agent came in to one of our classes to explain auto and life insurance, and all the different types of policies and coverage, etc. She did such a good job, and it made so much sense, that I then went into her office the following week and moved my policy over to her.
Since then, I’ve added renters, life and home insurance to the policy at one time or another and even moved to another agent with the same company in another state. Throughout everything, my State Farm agents have given me exemplary service and help. Their prices are extremely competitive, especially if you take advantage of things like the multiline discount, or the discount I got on my motorcycle insurance for taking a motorcycle safety course. They have also always done a very good job of explaining when I might need to make changes to my insurance, due to differing requirements, yet never pushed me for changes that I did not really want or could not afford.
Just this past week I purchased a new vehicle, and was planning on just adding it to my policy instead of replacing the existing vehicle, which I still have. My agent knew that it would cost me too much money though, since adding a new vehicle, rather than replacing, would lose me all the discounts I already had. She did a great job of explaining all of this, and of going over my existing coverage and the changes that I needed to make for the new vehicle, and did it all quickly over the phone while I was still sitting at the car dealer.
I cannot recommend this company enough, and I expect my child, when I have one, will have their vehicle insured through State Farm too.

I have been a State Farm customer for as long as I have been a licensed driver – about nine years. Throughout this time, I have had some positive and negative experiences with the company.
As a young driver, my father was still paying for insurance; at that time, I know he was always pleased with the service. As a long time customer (over thirty years), I have been led to believe that they value him more than a young, new customer.
In the time I have been insured, I have had two accident claims with State Farm. The first was handled well. State Farm defended me as the other insurance company attempted to place blame on me, despite state driving laws and police findings. I was very pleased to know that my company backs me in these issues. I feel very comfortable with State Farm in the event that an opposing party wishes to take legal action against me.
The second incident occurred in my new state of residence, in which I am not fully aware of insurance/liability laws in the event of an accident. In this incident, a driver swerved and struck my vehicle. Appealing to my pity and sympathy, I allowed the driver to attempt to pay out of pocket for damages to my vehicle. Once the driver did not follow through, I filed claims with both their and my insurance. Both vehicles involved were insured with State Farm.
It originally took over fourteen days to receive any response from the other party’s claims representative. Once in contact, they informed me that their insured was denying liability, and that I would need to go through my insurer. Again, making contact with my claims rep. took more than two weeks. Once in contact, the State Farm representative was not very helpful, or even welcoming, when speaking over the phone.
I eventually sought the assistance of my father. As potentially a more valued customer, he was immediately treated differently than myself. After reinvestigating the claim upon his request, State Farm was able to cover all of my costs and relieve liability from me. I was very pleased with the outcome, but very dissatisfied with the process. I don’t believe it should take longer than two weeks to make contact with a claims representative, and this happened twice. I will not leave the company over this matter, but I will begin looking into other companies, should something like this happen again.
My overall satisfaction with State Farm is above average. I would recommend the company to friends, but not without seeking other reviews first. I have no experience with other insurance companies, so I am not entirely aware of the quality of customer service in this business.

Over the past 3 years, my rates have gone up due to State of Michigan legislative changes, new laws for motorcycle riding, and various other fees and taxes. My insurance provider handed all of those costs directly over to me. Within 3 years, my monthly premium doubled due to all of these extra costs. After the latest increase of $18, I decided to start shopping around.
My first insurance prior to switching to AAA. used to be State Farm insurance for the better half of my life as a driver. For 15 years, they offered affordable rate, no hassles and plenty of miscellaneous benefits. What made me switch was a move from an apartment to a townhouse roughly 3 miles apart. The new place was on the outskirts of the greater Lansing area, and due to the zip code change, my rates would go up $50/month because the crime rate was significantly higher in Lansing versus Holt where I was staying before.
When I switched, I was able to secure $800 off every six months. Anybody with a brain would have taken that deal, from any reputable insurance carrier, especially one as big as AAA. 3 years later, my rates have made their way back up. Obviously, it was time for me and my family to look around. After rate increase after rate increase, the customer service and benefits outweigh the cost on a monthly basis.
Enter State Farm. Oddly enough, my old insurance agent is still around. I called up his office recently and put him to work. I wasn’t in a rush, so I gave him a few days to compile a quote for me, and magically, he’s able to save me roughly $1000 every year, almost as much as AAA offered for me to switch the last go around. It was never the insurance that drove me away, just the cost.
I’ve never had a problem with either of these carriers, and it is part of the reason why I stayed with State Farm for 15 years the first time around. They have locations everywhere, and I’m largely impressed each time I need to do business with one of their offices. I highly recommend State Farm Insurance. The offer every type of insurance you could possibly need and their agents work their tail off to get you the best and most affordable plan they can get you that will fit your budget.

have been a State Farm customer for twenty-six years with multiple autos and home owner’s policy with no auto accidents or other moving violations. On March 17, 2012 a SUV ran a red light and T-Boned my car in Cincinnati, Ohio. My Mercury Grand Marquis was totaled. Personal Injury: Concussion, injured shoulder, cracked molar, TMJ, ankle, foot, neck, back injury not to mention continuous headaches and tinnitus has increased. Five months after the accident the providers have yet to be paid in full even when State Farm approves the service to the provider and State Farm is denying ongoing needed medical treatments. You never know your insurance company until you have a major accident or catastrophic event, because even the worst insurance companies cover the minor items. Example: Toaster fire, running into the garage door, parking lot fender bender and other accidents under the $ amount of your annual policy premium total.
In good conscious I could not recommend State Farm to anyone. Health Care Providers tell me that State Farm is a known slow pay, and that other better insurance companies pay in 15 days and others pay 30 days from date billed. In Ohio it is State Law that providers be paid in 30 days. Obviously this does not mean anything to State Farm.
State Farm is stuck in the past with telephone communication. They do not provide email communication for reference or to expedite communication. The same is true with their agent(s) who follow-up with personal injury evaluations. On a 1-10 scale, I would rate their service a 2 and that is being generous.
The different departments (auto, auto med pay, etc) do not use a central data base for a claim. Each department wastes the client’s time by asking the same questions.
Glad handing agents may be great in writing your policy, but when you need service you need action.
State Farm could provide better service and lower costs by: 1) Utilizing central database for all customer communication and follow- up. Everyone dealing with the client would see the same information. 2) Stop wasting money on big time advertising and pay the medical providers on time. 3) Provide email address for all employees to use to interact with the clients (All State Farm employees do have email currently to communicate internally). 4) The business would grow by better service and great referrals.

I have been using State Farm for over ten years now and have had some up and down experiences with them. Some of the good things with them, are that they offer really good rates that are very affordable.
For a long period of time their customer service was excellent, and they seemed as though they had my best interest at heart. The only problem that I initially had with them was the issue of receiving my insurance card regularly. I had to call each month to get a new card which became quite frustrating. However, once that was resolved everything was fine and I was a very satisfied company.
However, things changed a bit when a severe storm damaged my home and many repairs were needed. Then I experienced a great deal of stress in dealing with this company, and especially the so called agents. They simply did not want to cover many of the crucial damages that my home received, especially to the roof. This was very disappointing as everyone else in the neighborhood received prompt service in repairing their damaged homes, except for me and my immediate neighbor who also had State Farm. After several month of hassle, I finally got everything taken care of, but it certainly did not come without struggle.
I thought long and hard about cancelling my policy after all the trouble that I went through with getting my home damages paid for, but my wife wanted to keep the long standing relationship that we had with State Farm, so I decided to continue to do business with them.
This decision paid off a few years later when our teenagers began to drive. They had minor incidents while behind the wheel that caused us to file several claims over a span of about three years. Our agent let us know that this was a typical experience for teenagers and they were happy to take care of our damages. They happily renewed our policy after all of those claims and were overall very helpful to all of our needs.
Even though we experienced a great amount of trouble with the severe storm, State Farm recovered nicely from that and has delivered excellent service to my family since that occasion. Their goal is to keep costs down as much as possible and use that to your benefit when times of trouble hit. I am thankful that we chose to keep doing business with State Farm.

State farm is truely an amazing auto insurance company. They really seem to care about all of their customers and really go out of there way to help everyone. You can call them 24/7 if you need to unlike other companies that will just call you back.
One of the biggest things are that they’ve been around for so many years now and are very well trusted. Everytime I call them, they really seem to try there best to help with all of my needs. There are extremely knowledgable about auto insurance and what the best coverage for the price is your everyone. Their actually honest and will give you a great deal on your coverage as long as you have a good driving history, they are very up front with everything they do.
State Farm is truely a family auto insurance company. I would recommend them to anyone that need insurance of any kind. They even give great discounts for combining your coverages. There is so many possibilities when it comes to picking the right auto insurance company and i can’t say that I know of one negative thing that state farm does.
State Farm is a great company for auto insurance they offer step by step set up on accounts and bill paying. I love your payment option because they just charge my checking account every month instead of having to cut a check like alot of the other insurance companies. They really seem to be on top of things. I mean, how often do you really see commercials from State Farm? Not to many…. thats because their so well known and so trusted that their work and policies do enough themselves.
In my opinion State Farm is second to none, there is no insurance company with more experience or with a higher qualification than State Farm. I guess some people might not like State Farm but to each is own I guess, sometimes the coverage might not be the best for everyone but like I said they really are a great company.
State Farm has always been able to hold up their end of the bargain when it comes to customer service and customer skills. I could call them right now if I had an issue and I could get it worked out. So if you r looking to get a new insurance company then I would recomend that you shop around but most likely you will find that stae farm will probably be the best option out there for most of you. Great Company

I have had State Farm as my auto insurance company for over seven years now. They are the only company I have ever used, and the only company I will ever use.
I started my policy all the way back in 2005, when I first came of age to drive a car, and I can honestly say I have never had a problem with the policy or the representatives at State Farm.
My actual policy is considered “full coverage”, and after speaking with friends and family, I have found that my rate is actually quite lower than what a lot of other insurance companies charge these days. Another bonus is the Steer Clear program I was a part of throughout high school and college. It is designed for students, and involves a simple safety checklist and driving log every six months. Doing this small tasks actually gave me a decent discount on my policy twice a year. I saved a few hundred dollars by taking advantage of the program, and the representatives were always eager for me to get it done and get my discount.
I really feel like the employees at State Farm care about me as a customer. Anytime there is a policy change or a plan change, they keep me updated and informed. I also use there website to check my policy information and pay my bill. It’s quick, it’s easy, and it’s convenient. As far as the policy itself is concerned, I’m one of the few people that has actually never gotten into any sort of car accident, so I have yet to actual use any of the benefits that State Farm offers to me.
What I do know, however, is that if an accident were to occur, I only have to pay a small deductible. I also know that State Farm would do everything it could to help me and work with me to fix my vehicle. I also have medical coverage insurance through State Farm, meaning that if I’m in an accident and unable to work for a few days, State Farm will actually compensate me for the days of work I missed!
I don’t see the need to consider alternatives, not now, nor in the future. I’ve had State Farm with me throughout my entire driving career, and I don’t foresee that changing. I already know I’m “in good hands” and that I save “up to 15% or more on car insurance” constantly.

I have had State Farm auto since 1978 and renters for the last several years. I’d give them a 10/10 on service and response to claims. Once I had a wire on my car start shorting out and almost catching fire due to a faulty repair. I had it towed to a specialty shop 35 miles away and they paid the towing bill (I have emergency road/towing for a few dollars every six months.) About 18 months ago my wife and I were rear ended and had soft tissue damage. Fortunately I had $100,000 bodily injury so no problem there and SF was great to deal with. My only complaint is that my premiums are going up and up. Now they’re about $67 a month for renters and full coverage. That’s about $10 a month raise in the last year. I’m getting other quotes.

I first purchased my policy for my automobile in 2006.In 2010 I added my home and a 2nd vehicle. My secondary car which was paid for $5,000.00 cash, was stolen from my driveway only 2 months after I purchased it.and was deemed a total lost.State Farm would not pay my claim because titling hadn’t been switch because of DMV inspection date backlog. This car was a salvaged vehicle and was told to my agent when the policy was purchased. My claim was not paid after all documentation that they requested was sent in.One would think I learned my lesson.NO.Then in 2012 I hit a terrible pothole in my Mercedes Benz and messed up my suspension and a few other components and damaged my spoiler.Claims department said that my suspension was probably going bad due to wear and tear and they could not guarantee that the pothole caused such damage.Stuck me with the estimate bill of $160.00 and a 2nd tow bill because car was not operable. They said that the only thing that they could repair was the spoiler which would be $612.00 but because my deductible was $1000.00 and it was less than my deductible my claim would not be paid.I have learned my lesson and ran far far away.

My experience with State Farm was a positive one to begin with. I went online to find insurance and found they had good coverage, good reviews, and reasonable prices. I was also happy I could complete the whole thing online. I filled out all of my info, was approved, and was giving a price for car insurance.
I was a little disappointed and put out when I discovered they need two months payment upfront, but I was assured I would not have to pay the following month. Upon receiving my first bill it said, contrary to what the website had told me, that I would have to enroll in automatic payments, otherwise my second months payment wouldn’t count. I don’t normally like to set up automatic payments, because I want to have complete control over what leaves my account, and when, but I wasn’t about to eat a whole payment so I enrolled.
The next month came and along with my bill/notification of payment came a note saying that they didn’t think my credit was good enough for them to cover me after all, even though they already approved my credit when I filled out the application. Now I have less than one month to find new insurance and they basically stole an entire payment from me. I’ve tried contacting the local agent I was assigned when I signed up and all she will tell me, “There is nothing I can do about.” She’s not even particularly apologetic or surprised, which can only lead me to believe that this is a racket State Farm is not new to.
I can’t speak to how they handle claims, but I wouldn’t feel confident using them ever again. If they are going to accept me and then drop me less than two months later, I would have to think they would use any means necessary to weasel out of paying a claim, not matter how legitimate. They will only be my insurance company for a few more weeks, but I urge anyone and everyone to steer completely clear of State Farm. I had been warned about them by people throughout the years, but chose to believe the reviews I read online, and that was a big mistake.
My personal opinion, save yourself the hassle, the headache, the time, and the money and go somewhere else to begin with.

State Farm has been providing me with my car insurance for the past five but going on six years. Throughout this time I have not had any problems or negative experiences. State Farm has offered benefits for me for the entire time I have been under their insurance. Since I have not had any accidents and no moving violations they offer discounts for being a safe driver.
Also when I was still in college I could send them a copy of my transcript and they gave me a discount for having a certain grade point average as well.
Overall I have been very pleased with the service I have gotten from State Farm Insurance, and I am glad that I am able to stay under my parents’ plan until I turn 26. They always are on time with sending me renewal cards and offer wonderful benefits if you ever choose to have them provide insurance for your home. State Farm has always been helpful and if I have had any issue with their service they have dealt with my problems and helped get me out of them.
I have a few moving violations from a long time ago but I do not think that the company has raised my insurance rates at all. And since I have never been in any serious accidents they have reduced my insurance rates even further. I believe that State Farm offers the best incentives and the most rewards than most of the other insurance companies provide.
My parents have been with State Farm for as long as I can remember and I have never heard of them having any problems with the company either. When I do get my own car and insurance I will more than likely go with State Farm because I know that I can trust that my agent will do a genuinely good job and help me to save money in any way that I am qualified to do. I am not looking forward to having to pay for my own insurance and car note but I would rather go with State Farm because I am aware of the discounts that they can offer and the customer service that they can provide is all that I am really looking for in an auto insurance company anyway, someone that I can trust to give me the best deal of any other insurance company.

I have been a State Farm customer for more than 25 year. In fact, State Farm takes care of all my insurance needs with the exception of life insurance. They have been my auto insurer the entire time as well. The true measure of an insurance company is not how they act when there are no issues or claims or problems.
The true measure is how they step up when a claim is made. And I’ve had quite a few. Fortunately, none of them were my “fault.” Which doesn’t mean the State Farm didn’t’ have to pay claims or provide me with services. In a few different instances, for the sake of expediency or due to the particular situation, they paid upfront and later had to pursue the at fault party’s insurance company to recover their payout.
The worst accident happened when I was traveling up the west coast. We were rear-ended as part of a multi car pileup on the 5 freeway in central Oregon – not near any major cities. The back end of the vehicles was pushed in, rendering it inoperable. Fortunately, we were not injured. We got the car towed to a State Farm approved repair shop and ended up leaving it there. State Farm paid for an Enterprise car rental (they also have locations everywhere!) so we could continue on our trip.
Since the car was so loaded with stuff, they agreed to cover the cost of a minivan and we were on our way. The repair shop had to order parts which turned into a 4 week repair ordeal. I hoped to pick up the car on the way back through Oregon but it was not yet ready. State Farm agreed to keep paying for the minivan for a few more weeks until such time as I could drive back to Oregon to pickup my car from the repair shop.
Car rental aside, the repair was over $5000. I was a little concerned they were going to want to “total” the vehicle, but I guess the value was still greater than the cost of the repair. Ultimately I was able to drive back to Oregon to get my car and return the rental. My recollection was the only out of pocket was the initial deductible on the repair since I had State Farm fix the car rather than waiting for the at fault driver’s insurance to fix it– I think it was several hundred dollars. And I eventually got that amount back as well.
Specifics aside, this was a very smooth process for a somewhat complicated situation. I was made whole with relatively little hassle. I was very satisfied with State Farm’s service and handling of the situation. Is State Farm the cheapest option out there? They probably are not. But this is a perfect example of getting what you pay for. Sometimes it makes sense to buy a quality product for the time when you actually need to use it!

My first time getting auto insurance was thru state farm. I didn’t know back then to check around for better rates. Because of my age, even tho I have a clean driving record I have to pay a lot more then I thought I would have to. But I guess it’s expected at most if not all insurance places.
Getting or started was that big of a deal I think I was in and out in an hour or so. I had this insurance for two years with no problems until I lost my job and feel behind on my payments. Which by feel behind I mean I was a week late sending in my payment which I thought wasn’t a big deal until the day after my due date the phone calls started, then three days later I got a letter in mail that included my cancelation of my policy papers. It stated that if I didn’t have my payment in, which I did, by the end of the week my policy would be canceled first thing Friday morning.
Before this I had never had so much as one late payment and It really pissed me off that they had already sent my cancelation papers after three days late with two years of perfect payment history and no claims filed. Well I let it go because I figured hey I guess a lot of people must not pay their insurance.
Six months later a storm came thru and I had limb and hail damage to my car so I called state farm and reported it, they said to document the damage and get estiments on repairs. So I took the pictures and checked out a couple repair shops. I had never been to or used a repair shop before, my brother was a mechanic, so I had no clue about getting my car checked so I just went to a couple shops in town. Anyway for what I was quoted from all three places the insurance company gave me 500 dollars less and expected me to pay for the rest I guess. Now I thought since I had the highest deductible it would cover anything needed to be done. Apparently not so I had to pay my deductible and an additional 500 to get my car fixed. For all of that I could have just not have insurance and had extra money to fix my car.

I had a positive experience with State Farm Auto insurance for a majority of the 4 years I have been with the company.
We had a hail storm in the area about 18 months ago and my car suffered damage. We were able to get the car inspected by an agent from State Farm and they cut us a check quickly for the damages. I was very impressed with the speed in which that was done. We literally had a check in hand in about 30 minutes. It also was a very reasonable amount and we didn’t have an issues in haggling over the amount.
I also thought at the time my monthly payment was good and competitive with other quotes and companies. But, about a year later they have raised my payment by about 30% and appear to have classified me like I had had a wreck. I have a very good driving record and have had that for many years. I think since we filed the hail damage claim we have been placed in that category. This is very frustrating since it appears you cannot file an claims without them raising your rate. I think many companies do this and not just State farm, but it is still frustrating.
So I am currently shopping around for a better deal. Customer service has been excellent and my agent is very helpful. I just wish they wouldn’t punish people for actually using the product they are paying each month for. I think many people are scared away from filing legit claims because they don’t want their premium to jump up. But the company otherwise has been very good.
I would recommend them to a point just not if you have a claim to file you need to know that there is a good change they will raise your premium or classify you as if you had a wreck or accident. I also have other insurance with them and have not had the same problem although I have not filed any claims on those. One big positive with his company is that they do have very trained and professional agents that you can call and speak with. You always know you can get in touch with them to ask questions or assist with claims. I am not sure those companies have that type of person that you can call to ask these types of questions.

I have had State Farm insurance since I first got a car at 16. So far State Farm has been a good insurance company for me.
My rates have consistently gone down since I took myself off of my parents policy and started my own when I was 20. My rates have slowly went down from $160 to now $60 a month. Not too bad, I’d say. I have never had any accidents or tickets on my history though. I have never had to even file a claim with them. So I cannot say how good they are about taking care of an auto accident or anything like that.
When we added my husband to my policy the rates didn’t even go up that much which was nice. Only a few dollars. He has had accidents and tickets on his record but it has been awhile so I don’t know how much that would affect it. I will continue to use State Farm until they do something that I do not agree with or if my rates jump for some reason, but so far I would say they are a good company to have. I would recommend my friends to state farm as well.
When I was a student in high school and college they gave good discounts for keeping my grades up. That’s very helpful for parents who have their children on their plan and want to save some money and their children are good students. As far as I know state farm has excellent rates and good customer service.

I have been driving for many decades and I’ve had insurance with several different companies over the years. I dropped my first policy, from Nationwide, over a bounced check. It was one of those freak things where a deposit to my bank account took way too long to clear. I called my NW agent and apologized. I explained the situation and promised I would take off work and come by his office and pay in cash. He agreed. By the time I arrived they had bounced my check two more times. That was the end of that relationship!
Things only went downhill from there. Geico ripped me off, first by overcharging me by hundreds of dollars for a policy on a newly purchased car and second, by charging me for the obligatory collision coverage on the car, but never putting the coverage on my policy. As far as I’m concerned, Geico should be forced to call themselves Despicable, Inc. And that cute little lizard? Probably a piranha dressed in a green gecko suit. Let’s just say that my expectations for auto insurance companies were something far short of spectacular.
But my latest experience, with State Farm, has been great. Since 2005 I’ve had their basic liability, collision, and comprehensive. Their rates are very competitive. I’ve also purchased their roadside assistance plan at a tiny fraction of what AAA charges. My agent’s staff is terrific. (Faith, if you ever read this, I’m talking about you!) Faith has walked me through the terms and the legalese with infinite patience every time there’s an issue or a change. She has taken into account my financial situation when making her recommendations and given me the best advice for my income level. I will readily admit to being totally deficient in this respect. I am really dense when it comes to the intricacies of the legal system and the implications of those horrific, hypothetical scenarios involving my car, an accident, and millions of dollars worth of property damage, medical expenses and liability. I tend to freeze up at the mere thought. But Faith has talked me through it, reminded me to breathe, and made sense of all those numbers that fall in the unimaginable range. I really should buy her flowers.
The true worth of your insurance company can never be ascertained until you get into trouble. In my case it turned out to be none of the nightmares involving high speed freeway pile-ups or uninsured drunks driving on a suspended license. It was a pine tree, snapped off in high winds and hurled at my poor little car, sitting there, defenseless, in its own driveway. My beloved little car was crushed like a tin can. I was devastated. That car was supposed to last me for decades. I couldn’t afford to replace it! The same storm dumped a record amount of snow from D.C. to New Hampshire. The whole east coast was at a standstill and the storm damage was severe. Still, you would have thought that I was the only person that called that day. From my agent’s staff to the home office to the claims division to the claims adjustor – all their personnel were unfailingly polite, efficient, sympathetic and helpful. They extended my rental car allowance when I really needed it. They assessed my car’s value at almost what I paid for it, regardless of the Blue Book. They took care of my little personal disaster – one which had huge financial implications for me – and whittled it down to a manageable size. I am very impressed by their level of service. Much to my surprise, Barry had it right. He wrote their corny jingle – “Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there….”

absolutely the best insurance company, bar none. The claims service is exceptional. My agent helps me with anything I ask him to. when i shop other companies noone can guarantee me that my policies will not be cancelled. I have earned this luvury but I dont want to ever lose it. and no other company offers it. Also my 401k Rollover is averaging 5% per year and the fees are minimal. Thanks State Farm!!!!

I am not happy with State Farm at all. I have been with them Since 1994. but they claim i have only been there since 1997. no biggie there. But what I can not stand is this; I have always had FULL COVERAGE at 25/50/25 with a 500 Deductible. My wife and I move from Florida to NJ.
Found out the Premium is way more but the coverage is not the same with Florida Insurance I was paying $636 every six months in NJ it jumped to $990 every six months now in 2012 it jumped again to $1097.00 every six months, I can not afford that I’m on SSDI and VA Comp. My income stays the same every month Since I am a Service Connected disabled Veteran I’m switching to USAA Auto for the exact same Full Coverage as with State Farm my Premium is only $832.00 A YEAR, mind you i haven’t had any Accidents (That i was at Fault) Since 1992 so I’m going to save $1362.00 per year or $113.50 a month

We have been with State Farm for 17 years. I wish I had invested all the money they have of ours. Their rates are extremely high. Good service with auto repair, but do not get sucked into buying their financial products (life insurance, umbrella policies. etc.) as it is money down the toilet. if you put the 500 bucks into an IRA over 17 years, you will actually have something, even at 0% interest. Be careful. The big names mean BIG output. Little names mean trouble as well.
