I’ve been with Travelers for 20 years. No problems. Fast to pay claims. Online website is great.

I have been with Travelers insurance for three years after I moved from another state. I am indifferent to Traveler’s insurance. There are positives and negatives in my experience with their service. First off, my rates are twice as much as they were in my previous state. They claim that they have the lowest rates for the area, but paying over $1000 for car insurance every 6 months isn’t a low rate. I also don’t drive more than 30 miles a week and the rates are still astronomical. I cannot comment on whether they are good with claims as I had not had to file a claim with Travelers. The good parts of travelers insurance deals with their customer service. Whenever you have a question for an insurance representative, you don’t have to wait very long on hold to reach a representative. Also, they hold pretty good hours in which you can call with a question or a concern late into the evening and know that you will reach someone within a matter of minutes. In addition, their website is easy to browse and their payment methods and payment posts to account are nearly flawless and seamless. The only thing that annoys me about their site is their password requirements. They have outrageous password requirements and you tend to forget your password if you are paying your bill when not near your computer where you store your password. Overall, I would say that there are positive and negative characteristics of having Traveler’s insurance, and that I am indifferent to their company overall. This indifference could change one way or another if I ever had to file a claim; hopefully toward positive.

Absolutely terrible company, I was rear ended and my back axle was a complete loss. Idiot that hit me was uninsured and Travelers decided to fight me every step of the way and try to find a way that the accident was my fault. They would never call me back and I had to initiate every phone call with them to find out what was going on. In other-words they treated me like complete garbage and some kind of scam artist where it was part of my genius plan to total my brand new car to get (something?) out of them. In the end they wound up paying me a paltry fee and I had to buy a new care more or less completely out of my own pocket. Their reason? Well there is the funny thing. I have absolutely positively zero idea of why they decided to screw me over. They wouldn’t tell me anything and after getting treated like this by them on my very first claim with them I wrote them off and instantly left them for a better insurance company. Did I mention don’t ever use them? Ever. If they’re the last insurance company in the world and your only choices involve using them or getting in trouble with the law for driving uninsured. Just drive uninsured. At least that way you’ll have the money you saved from not using Traveler’s insurance to use on whatever tickets you get for being an uninsured driver. Traveler’s insurance, not even once.

I am happy to be a proud customer of Travelers Insurance Company Ltd. I am a good driver and I am very much careful on the streets. I was one day hit by a car at a turning point and my car had to suffer unnecessary damage. I approached my auto insurance company and the inspectors of the company came to my house. They reviewed the damage caused to my vehicle and after proper inspection, they took photographs of the same. The inspectors called me to the company office and told me the they required to complete proper formalities for processing the charges for damage. They studied my driving record properly and they found that I had not caused any accident in the last ten years. I am in fact a good driver and I drive my vehicle very carefully and with utmost care. I got the recommendation of this company from one of my relatives who himself owned an auto insurance policy of this company. I also carefully reviewed the feedback of this company online before applying for an insurance policy for my car. The application procedure was really fast and at the same time their claim processing procedure is also fast. Within a reasonable amount of time they processed the insurance claim and I got back the cost of my damage. They deserve credit for such a positive review from my side. I would definitely recommend this company to my other friends and relatives as well. At the same time I would give them five stars.

When I got into a pretty bad accident about 6 months ago, I was blown away with the claims services. I was hit by a pickup truck and my car was totaled. I called my agent while I was still at the scene of the accident, and he actually showed up as I was receiving medical attention. He helped me deal with the police and the other drive, made sure I was ok, and helped me get my car towed to an affiliated garage. He even drove me home when the investigation was wrapped up. During the claims process, he kept me updated and made very step as stress free as possible. He worked with the car rental agency to get me an upgraded car and made sure I didn’t have to pay any money out of pocket. He knew I need my claim payment to buy a new car so worked really hard to accelerate my claim payment. I was most surprised that he took an active role in helping me search for a new car. Once I decided on the car that I wanted, he took the initiative to work with several dealerships to negotiate the lowest price possible for me. He probably saved me over a thousand dollars on my new car. Overall, I felt like I was dealing with a friend throughout the entire process and not just an insurance agent. I still can’t believe how easy it was to resolve the claim, buy a car, and move past my accident. I give my agent most of the credit for that

This insurance company will give you the cheapest possible option to replace your damaged parts. We had a damaged Mercedes bumper, which was a new, never-damaged factory part before the incident. Traveler’s Insurance denied us a factory bumper replacement to save themselves $100. They approved for a cheap refurbished part instead.
When asked about the unfair replacement, instead of addressing my points, their manager told me: “If you are not satisfied, just take us to court.” He knew that we might as well pay for a new bumper ourselves instead of hiring a lawyer. After having talked with their adjuster, appraiser, and manager, I realized that this insurance company will find every excuse possible to take advantage of you to save even just a penny. Spare yourself the agony.

I have been with Travelers Insurance for over a year now. I was a little worried to switch to them since I was making a change after 10 years of being insured with my prior company. My rates were going up for no reason at all and I felt I needed to find a cheaper rate. Travelers customer service agents were very helpful and understanding of my needs. The people that are working are not rude and trying to hurry you off of the phone or trying to make you purchase something that fits their needs and not yours. Very professional and willing to help with everything. I got really great rates and was able to switch without having to really do anything at all. I finance my vehicle so I had to have full coverage. Usually, that kind of coverage is very expensive. But not with Travelers. They were the cheapest by far. I think I had gone to about 5 or 6 different websites getting quotes and no one came close to touching Travelers. I remember having an issue with my due date of my policy and they changed it right away to suit my needs. From that moment on, I knew that I had made the right decision and was extremely happy with it. I would suggest anyone who needs insurance or is thinking about switching to check out Travelers! They are definitely worth it and they are always ready and willing to give you the type of assistance you need any time of the day or night.

My auto insurer has been Travelers insurance for the past few years. Despite all of the commercials from geico, progressive, farmers etc. claiming low rates and all this other jazz, a friend heard about Travelers, and it turns out, at least around where I am, that they are the cheapest auto insurer. For partial coverage on my car, it is about $300 a year. I am a driver in my late 20’s who has never been in an accident or gotten a ticket. That could change, and I am not sure how Travelers would respond, but all I can write about is my actual experiences with them. I have had to call them to see what they could do to help me when my car went into the ditch (I don’t consider it and accident, because the car just slid off the road into the ditch). I decided not to use them for towing as that was not a part of my plan and would be expensive, but the customer service representative was very polite and answered my questions in a helpful way. I had a friend who had a Triple A deal with one free tow a year they let me have, which was great of them. Other than that one little issue, I haven’t really had to contact my car insurer. My experience talking to that rep was very positive however, and I would be willing to call again if I had any difficulties. I am fairly confident any person who answered would be just as helpful as the person I spoke with the day I went in the ditch. So long as Travelers stays the lowest insurer near me I will be staying with them. |Decent insurance for drivers who are able to drive for years without an issue.

I decided on Traveler’s to bundle my homeowner’s policy and auto for a discount. First collision since leaving Progressive after about a 12 year fantastic run. I must say that I thought the Concierge Claim process would be easy, efficient, and less complicated than the basic claim process. Newsflash: it is not! I have literally had 10 different people calling me from 10 different telephone numbers, all announcing themselves as claims adjusters. After dropping my car off at the concierge location for appraisal, nobody seemed to know where my car was even though it was supposed to be just down the street the dealership’s collision center for repairs. After a nerving round of telephone call transfers from here to there, they finally located my car. For some strange reason, the last adjuster I spoke to thought it was funny, it was not!! I should have listened to the dealership when they told me not to go through Traveler’s concierge claim, but to instead drive/tow the car directly to the collision center. Too many hands in the pot with this service, and nobody seems to really know anything. The first concierge woman has disappeared and the next on the list has a mailbox that has not been setup/full each time I call. And, to top it all off, the rental car that I was given at the concierge claim office through Enterprise Rentals was filthy, dirty, and disgusting. The rental person had the nerve to walk all around the car and look inside it to remind me to bring it back in good order. Are you serious right now? How could I possibly bring the interior back any dirtier and where would I possibly find any more birds to poop on the paint in winter??? I am not amused by this experience. Progressive was much less complicated and professional when it came to an actual claim.

One evening I was driving home from New Hampshire in my mint-condition 2012 Mazda 3, and I hit a deer that had swiftly jumped out of the woods and into the middle of an interstate highway. Unfortunately because of the particular circumstances, there was absolutely no way I could avoid hitting it! Thank goodness I wasn’t badly hurt, but my car did not make it out of the situation so lucky.
The next day I filed a claim and waited for my auto insurance company to get back to me. Much later, I was informed by my auto insurance company, Travelers, that they would only cover my car’s damages with aftermarket junk parts made in china! However, the damaged parts of my mazda were certified Mazda parts and I would expect that they would be replaced with the same exact parts, considering the hefty amount of money I spend in insurance premiums!
Mazdas, in my general experience, are a little finicky when it comes to parts and I’d much rather prefer to have certified Mazda parts in my car. Travelers insurance, unfortunately, did not give any consideration to my (or my car’s) needs! Travelers insists on cutting their costs and force-feeding me questionable aftermarket parts. Sadly, I had absolutely no say in the matter.
Due to this experience, I really feel like they are cheating the consumer by claiming that it states in your policy that Travelers can dump whatever parts they deem fit into your car! I will be leaving Travelers and taking my business to another insurance company!

When I first moved to Austin, Texas, one of the first high expenses I expected to undertake was much higher car insurance than that when I lived in Waco. That is where Traveler’s Insurance comes in.
My credit union referred me to Traveler’s to get the lowest possible rate on my Dodge sports car, which has a V8 engine and is viewed by most car insurance agencies as a huge risk for young drivers like myself! The rate they provided me was just over $140, which is not a bad price as it fits into my budget just fine! Travelers automatically deducts my monthly premium the day after my pay day, which is also monthly, so that I don’t have to think about paying auto insurance as it comes straight out of my bank account.
Their customer service is also very nice and helpful; they allow me to adjust my insurance plan as new situations arise during my ownership of my car. In the event that I need to contact a sales representative from Traveler’s, I have a direct email address to talk to one of their specialists and address them with any questions that I may have.
Overall, I believe that Traveler’s is a very simple auto insurance company. They don’t try to throw in any catchy plan names that may actually cost more in the long-run. I prefer simple auto insurance, and if you prefer simple auto insurance, look no further than Traveler’s Insurance for your auto insurance needs.

Never had a claim..They have been over 6 months giving me the run around and flimsy excuses week after week. It is around $1,000, Every week same old actual lies week after week . I will never refer Travelers to anyone.

travelers offered us a great rate, however once we were in an accident they were HORRIBLE! They not only refused to repair our structural damage to our car (claiming it must have been prior) they also investigated us for fraud. We are good people and were treated in such an unprofessional manner. I am beyond upset with our experience with them. They didn’t return phone calls for 2 days and then made us pay the rental car fee as well for those days. If we had the means I would have 100% hired a lawyer. This is a good company if you want cheep rates but if you really need them to do their job look elsewhere!!!!

Traveler’s is awesome. For one, they are conveniently located in my neigborhood AAA store, a place that I go to regularly. Second, they are inexpensive. I was at Allstate before I came to Travelers, and the difference is remarkable.
My car insurance, for two cars, was cut about in half. When I get the bill today, I always think that is a six month premium, but in fact it is for the year. The coverage that I have with Travelers is that same that I had with Allstate. They also cut my homeowners insurance premium down dramatically. I was paying almost $1000 for the insurance on my $400,000 house, but with Travelers it is only $600. Another nice feature is that my agent is really excellent. She really cares about getting us the best deal. She shopped around a lot of companies, and came up with Travellers. There was really no comparison between Travellers and anything else we looked at.

I was with Traveler’s Insurance for 10 years. I should have known they were no good before bad came to worse, but at the time I didn’t have much choice, because I couldn’t afford to go with one of the more expensive auto insurance coverage.
About 2 years ago, I was in a serious accident. I immediately called Traveler’s to notify them of what had happened, to get the ball rolling as quickly as possible. Initially it seemed as if everything was going to be a smooth process. However, I soon came to find that this was not the case, and that I was in for the battle of my life. For example, they paid all the medical expenses of the person I was in the accident with and did not pay for my medical care. They fixed his vehicle and not mine.
Additionally instead of representing me, they paid him off because of the fear of going to court. Secondly, I could never get in touch with anyone. When they needed information from me, they knew how to reach me, but none of the extensions were right, none of the employees knew each other and I got absolutely sick and tired of playing phone tag. Another example is when I had to take my car in for appraisal, the appraiser failed to show up and I wasted my day, my time and my gas.
When they did fix my car, it was only HALF fixed by what I consider a joke of an auto repair service. The alignment is still completely off till this day and as a result my car still has problems. They never communicated with me,and everything was a run around and so, for that, they get a Z- for customer care.
They have the worst customer service department of any company when I called back to speak with those individuals, no one had ever heard from them. You could never get in touch with anyone directly and the delays and time wasted was just not worth it and mind you, they weren’t the cheapest company in the world. The worst and most devastating fact is that they even though my medical expenses were supposed to be covered, they never paid for anything. In addition to that, they decided they would increase my premium. Traveler’s threw me under the bus. They took care of the other party and they left their customer out to dry. For that I give them a Z- on a scale from A-F.

I have been with Travelers now for over 5 years. My original agent was very curious and professional. Over the years we developed somewhat of a friendship. Claims have always been super easy with no hassle over little things.
Recently my agent passed away and the loyalty that I feel to the company because of him has kept me with Travelers. I’ve quoted other companies and while some may be just a bit cheaper, the relationship that I have built with Travelers over the years will be hard to replace. It just goes to show that a nice friendly salesman can overcome a companies short comings (even though Travelers does not have any worth mentioning.) Great company and great service!

I have not had any accidents since I have joined them however I have had to interact with their customer service team and reached a human being right away to interact with. The person was friendly, courteous, and was able to help me right away with what I needed (I was looking to move my start of insurance date to the day of because I wasn’t certain if my old insurance was still covering me and it was snowing out that day). The service rep was understanding, did it right away and I have not had any issues with them since, they offered me the lowest rates at the time of purchase and I have been with them for almost 9 months now, I would and have recommended them to multiple friends looking for cheaper insurance

I got travelers through a dealership when I bought my new 2012 car. They were the cheapest so I went with them and got gap through them as well. I was very pleased up until the other day when I traded my car in for a 2012 suv. I called for a quote because I would be going up in payment and wanted to make sure the insurance would be less as I was going from a sports car to an suv. The first agent I got was super nice and quoted me at 90$ a month which included a processing fee of 5$. I said great, It went down 30$ and I wanted them to make it effective as of monday. She said she would do so and that was the end of it. I called in on monday to make sure everything went through ok and the next rep said my insurance would stay the same as the car I had. I adivsed that I was quoted in at 90 and she said that the girl lied and its not any different and said she couldnt handle it and transfered me to my ” insurance specialist” which was the car dealership. I adivsed about what had happened and she said she would work on it. Well a day passes and still nothing so I called back to travelers and the quote kept getting more and more each time I spoke with them. I made 9 phone calls to the company and go no where but lied to and called to cancel just today and they said they couldnt do it and to talk to my rep, which need I mind you is never in office. I have officially switched insurance companies and give travelers an F for customer service. They also are terrible at insurance cards as well. While on the phone I asked for insurance cards 4 times and never got them.

I had Travelers Homeowers and my agent told me I would save all this money if I bundled by policies. BAD IDEA Every year my insurance on Home & car would increase until I was paying close to $400 more a year on my car! Then I had a small fender bender, a huge SUV backed into me and of course had an Uninsured Driver. Travlers adjustors were horrid. I had 8 or 9 different people and one woman who treated me like I was a red headed step child. They totalled my car which was older and in perfect working condition.. and I was banged up— so I felt to be treated half way fairly, was forced to retain an attorney.

Travelers was really good to me until a 250 pound buck hit my car and did 7,000 worth of damage to my new SUV. It was not my fault. Travelers paid the claim right away and they were very nice… … However with in a few months my rate more than doubled from 90.00 a month to 225.00 No other accidents or claims. So we left the company!

I was rear ended by a man who has Travelers Insurance, it is now 2 months after I PROMPTLY put in my claim and Travelers has yet to settle this matter. First of all it took them 3 weeks to FINALLY send an adjuster out, the adjuster low balled us on the estimate of damages and I had to get several estimates on damages to my car, which were almost double that which Travelers quoated me. I called NUMEROUS times and their agent Brenda Rice would not return my phone calls, it was ONLY after I contacted her supervisor and reported them to the Kansas Insurance commissioner that I recieved any kind of reply. Then it was another 2 weeks before I was informed that they did not know if the person that hit me was insured or not because his truck was under a 30 day tag. I had been told on more than one occassion that they would be setteling this matter and cutting me a check for damages. They also told me they would have to consider the car totlaed because the amount of damages exceeded the bluebook price of my car. After 2 months I am STILL no closer to closure on this matter. The man who hit us gave false information, I asked the insurance adjuster Brenda Rice to give me his correct information so I could file a court case so I can be compensated in this matter and they will not help me in this matter. Travelers Insurance will not tell me if he does or does not have insurance and they will not give me correct information so I can persue this matter if he does not have valid insurance at the time of the accident. You would be an idiot to go with this shyster company no matter how cheap their rates are. Go with a reputable Insurance company and Travelers is NOT one of them.

Overall rating of this company based on customer service would be above average.
Still based on my experience with the insurance industry prospective customers should understand that Travelers has some unique billing practices not applicable to other brand name companies. It would appear to be the corporate policy of Travelers to increase the automobile insurance rate a modest amount should you finance a new car or finance in general. Thus, like most of us if you bank finance your new car expect travelers to build into the rate an extra charge.

I use Travelers because I get a discount from my work. I work for an insurance broker and our agency writes business with Travelers. I have not had any problems with them so far, but I have never had a claim while I have been with them. As far as I know their pricing is good, but I get a discount. Service seems to be good as far as I can tell. Coverage also seems to be fine. If someone asked me my option on them, I would definitely recommend Travelers to anyone who would ask me. But like I said I have never had a claim with them, so I have not had to deal with them in a stressful situation, but I do not see any reason why they would not perform well and meet my needs.

Travelers Insurance has been nothing but courteous, helpful and available in the three years that I have been using their services. When I first signed up I needed to have my insurance cards immediately, within minutes they had the cards faxed to my work fax number. The representatives are always patient in giving me quotes with several different options. I recently moved and am trying to decide whether I want to keep both of my cars or if it would be better to sell. When I called the representative went through several different scenarios with me so I can make the choice that is best for me.
Since I have never had a claim with Travelers I am unable to give a fair assessment of their care in that department, but if their Customer Service is any indication I am sure it would be as pleasant as something like that can be.
