Country Financial started in 1925 as Country Mutual Insurance Company, selling fire and lightning insurance. Compared to other insurance companies, they added auto insurance relatively early on in 1927. Over the years they added more products and companies, outgrowing their office and eventually settling in Bloomington, Il where they are now headquartered.

They currently write in 19 states through independent representatives.
