National General Insurance Reviews (GMAC)
National General Insurance (formerly known as GMAC) is one of the few international insurance companies in the market today.
Founded in 1919 as the General Motors financial services arm, National General Insurance is currently headquartered today in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It was started as a way to offer protection for damages to GM vehicles that were sold by GM car dealers and financed through GMAC. To date, they are still the only car insurance company in the country that has roots in the actual automotive industry. They have over 100 offices in the United States and Canada, and currently employ over 4000 people. Outside of North America, National General Insurance has insurance operations in Asia, Europe, and Latin America.
National General Insurance likes to find new ways they can offer a unique product to their customer and still maintain high levels of customer service, as well as rates that are competitive with other insurance companies. They were the first company to offer their clients insurance coverage that would pay for unexpected mechanical repairs that had nothing to do with a car accident.

I have an older car that was fully covered with National General Insurance. I had a one car accident, through no fault of my own. I called in a claim to National General. They were pretty quick with getting an adjuster to come out to my home and inspect the damage to my vehicle. It was found by the final adjuster that the damages totaled more than the worth of my car. National General ended up offering me way more than low blue book as I thought they would. This lessened the whole painful ordeal. I was pleased with the outcome of this unfortunate accident that I had. With the money from the insurance claim I was able to buy another car that I was satisfied with. The staff from National General kept in touch with me through the whole process and made sure that I was satisfied through each step. Since my car was totaled I was given a replacement car until I was paid for the loss of my car. All in all I was more than satisfied with the way my claim was handled. I would definitely recommend National General Insurance to anyone looking for a competent and caring insurance company. Even though I talked to many different people from the company, each one was more than glad to help me with any questions or issues that I might be having with the claim at the time. I have been with National General for about six years now and will continue insuring my vehicles through them

My car had been vandalized. I had never turned in a claim to my insurance company before, so I was feeling kind of confused. I went online and actually initiated the claim on their website.
By the next day a representative called me. She told me that an insurance adjuster would have to come to my home and look at the car, to assess the damages. The next day the insurance adjuster came to my house. He assessed the damages and then told me that he would have to turn in his report to another insurance adjuster at the company. He said that I would most likely get a decision on my claim in the next few days. In the next few days the insurance adjuster called me and said that I had been approved to have my car fixed and that I could take my car to a body shop of my choice.
So I took my car to a local body shop. The man from the body shop evaluated the damages and presented an estimate to my insurance company. My insurance company approved the estimate and I was then able to bring my car in to the body shop and get it repaired. I was quite impressed with the GMAC insurance company, as they were very professional, helpful and didn’t keep me waiting.
I liked that they were in touch with me every step of the way and that they approved the repairs to my car so quickly. Their rates are quite reasonable too.
