Don’t do it! What you save to be insured with them will be nothing compared what you will pay if you make a claim. If someone would have told me the stress I would have to go through when I make a claim I would have gave up the extra money to be with another company. In short, review it for yourself ask anyone who has made a claim with them and find out what process they had to go through i’m sure it will be negative.

I have been with The General for about 5 years. They have given me very good service, so far.
When I needed to make a payment and the online service wasn’t working I called them and talked to a very friendly helpful person. One other time I couldn’t get the ID cards to print properly and they sent them out to me right away.
Since I haven’t been involved in any accidents I can’t really say how their service is when it comes to claims.I do think they are reasonable priced and being able to make monthly payments sure does help the budget. I like having the online service, that way I can add or change my policy anytime day or night. Plus making payments anytime too, I don’t need business hours to do those things.I have found the online service easy to use also, you can look up payment history, just about anything its very convenient.
A couple of times I used the email service to relate a problem and they were very fast getting back to me. That is kind of neat too. They also email you when your payment is due so you don’t have to have a paper bill mailed to you, but if you forget a payment they not only send the email but the paper notice too so you won’t forget.
For me they have been a very good insurance company. Over all I would rate them as good, can’t say excellent as I haven’t had to file a claim so I can’t really say how good their service is when it comes to handling claims.

I would like to tell you about the best customer service, and the most professional people I have ever met.
The service I received at the general was beyond any I have ever received from any other company. When I first called they were very polite and understanding that I was new to the whole insurance policy thing, and took me seriously and kept me on track. They were polite in the questions they’d ask, and would respond professionally and politely to any questions I’d interrupt them with.
I was with them for over 1 year, and with in that time I was in 1 auto incident. After being rear ended, I called them and the first thing they told me to do was be checked for injuries, and co-operate with local law enforcement. It was only a fender bender, but I was feeling slight pain. I thought nothing of it. A few days later I called them to tell them I was experiencing pain in my back. this turned into months of rehabilitation. Where my chiropractor and physicians were difficult, representatives, and agents of The General were very easy to talk to, and were very supportive. At times I felt like a family member.
I am very proud to be with The General, as is obvious. When I went to the sub-station to renew my policy there was a small difficulty, but my agent made sure things got done for me. He called people on the other end and commanded them to do things. All the while with a friendly smile for me. I was really impressed with the level of dedication and work he had for his clients.
Even though I was young, and far from mature I was treated like I was their boss. I was fairly rude at times, because of my age, however I was still treated with the utmost kindness, and respect. After my incident I had to file a claim. I didn’t know much of what I was doing. They guided me along the correct path, recommended me to talk to a good lawyer company, and were honest with me. When a representative came out to take pictures of the damage, she was very polite and friendly, and social with my dog. She didn’t make me feel like a criminal, like the people of the other people’s insurance company, like with State Farm. She took photos, and left on a friendly note.
